4 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Hitters Worth Adding Tuesday
From a surging Orioles' slugger to a recently activated Royals' infielder, these hitters could help your fantasy team.
Let's keep checking out fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options for Tuesday by going over some hitting options.
Here's the waiver wire article we did on hitters yesterday, plus Tuesday's pitcher waiver wire article.
Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP! The Fantasy Sports Assistant now can answer questions you have after doing team breakdowns or waiver wire analysis!
Christian Encarnacion-Strand - Baltimore Orioles
Encarnacion-Strand is rostered in just 6.39% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was closer to 4% a couple days ago, so he's on the rise now.
He had a three-hit game on Monday, with one of the knocks being a homer. Encarnacion-Strand had four RBIs and a run scored in that contest.
Encarnacion-Strand has nine hits over his past six games and 27 plate appearances. He has three homers and a double in that stretch, plus 10 RBIs, three runs scored, a stolen base and seven strikeouts.
He's played in 24 big league games so far in 2026. Over 88 plate appearances, Encarnacion-Strand has a .272 average and .310 on-base percentage. He has six home runs and four doubles among his 22 total knocks, plus 22 RBIs, eight runs scored, four walks, a stolen base and 21 strikeouts.
He has only played third base for the Orioles since being called up, but he should also be eligible at first base from past years. Encarnacion-Strand is delivering enough at the plate to own in a few more leagues today, especially at such a critical juncture of the fantasy season. He's just a deep-league fantasy option, but definitely look into adding the corner infielder to your squad, even if it's just until his bat cools off a bit.
Abimelec Ortiz - Washington Nationals
Ortiz is up 3.66% today and now sits at 32.88% overall.
Ortiz hit a homer on Sunday, and continues to deliver pretty well at the plate. Over his 14 games and 41 plate appearances in his first taste of the big leagues, he has a .300 average and .317 OBP.
Ortiz has 12 total hits, including five homers and a double already. He also has posted nine RBIs, six runs scored, a walk and 10 strikeouts.
He has primarily played first base for the Nats, while also getting an appearance at designated hitter. Ortiz should get in the lineup more if he keeps delivering at the plate.
Ortiz is another deep-league fantasy asset only, but if he's playing and producing daily for longer, he could eventually work into some standard leagues. Keep tabs on Ortiz in case that happens.
Maikel Garcia - Kansas City Royals
Garcia is rostered in 71.69% of leagues at the moment. He's back on the rise after returning from an injured list trip.
He had two hits, an RBI and a run scored in his first game in nearly two months on Monday. Garcia's last game before that was on June 22.
Garcia has regressed from his breakout 2025 season, and sits with just a .264 average and .321 OBP over 70 games and 299 plate appearances this year. He has 72 total hits, including 17 doubles, three home runs and two triples. Garcia has 31 RBIs, 33 runs scored, 24 walks, five stolen bases and 46 strikeouts.
He's been a fantasy draft bust to this point, but if he finishes the season strong, he can offset some of his poor play a bit. The primary third baseman should be eligible at a couple positions, which ups his fantasy value, especially if his hitting improves down the stretch.
I like Garcia in all deeper leagues still, and those lacking infielders in standard leagues could benefit from adding Garcia today. Keep tabs on him and be ready to pounce if he takes off down the stretch.
Caleb Durbin - Boston Red Sox
Durbin is way up to 76.26% owned. He was at 55% on August 2, so it's been a steady climb this month.
Durbin had three more hits on Monday, while also driving in a run, walking once and scoring twice. He has five hits over his past three games and 10 knocks over the past six ballgames.
He has picked things up in the second half of the season, and now has a .257 average and .327 OBP over 118 games and 448 plate appearances overall. Durbin has 61 RBIs and runs scored, 15 stolen bases, 34 walks and 61 strikeouts. Among his 102 total knocks, he has 22 doubles, 12 home runs and a triple.
Durbin is a third baseman this season, but could be eligible elsewhere from last season. He's delivering more at the plate of late, and even with not much power to his game, he's a decent fantasy asset.
He needs to be utilized in all deeper leagues right now, and he's a pretty good standard league option as well. Add and stream him until his bat cools off.
