Derik Queen 2026-27 Outlook: Versatile Sophomore Center Locked Into Starting Role

Derik Queen enters his second NBA campaign firmly established as the starting center for New Orleans after an All-Rookie debut. At just 21 years old, Queen sits atop the depth chart ahead of backup Yves Missi, solidifying his role alongside frontcourt star Zion Williamson.

Our projections forecast Queen averaging 27.6 fantasy points and 25.8 minutes per game across 76 appearances. We anticipate well-balanced production from the young big man, expecting 12.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game on 48.4% shooting from the floor and 79.1% from the stripe.

Carrying an ADP of 102.8, Queen is an attractive mid-round pick whose fantasy ownership has steadily risen to 84%. His playmaking acumen and passing chops on the break provide unique upside at the center spot, establishing a remarkably reliable statistical floor for fantasy rosters.
