Trevor Larnach's cold spell makes him a risky fantasy option despite stable outfield role

Larnach continues to serve as the primary left fielder for the third-place Twins (33-40), but his production has hit a wall. Over his last 11 games, he is batting just .233 with zero homers, slumping further to a .143 average over his last five contests. Despite his secure everyday role in a lineup currently missing catcher Ryan Jeffers, Larnach's cold bat is difficult to trust in active lineups right now.

Looking under the hood, Larnach's current power outage contrasts with last season's 17-homer campaign and our projection of nine home runs over 384 at-bats. While his .250 season average mirrors his career baseline, his dismal .354 slugging percentage over the last month highlights a lack of hard contact. Expect a positive correction soon, but he remains a rest-of-season bounce-back candidate rather than an immediate savior.

Minnesota has six road games this week, facing the Rangers and Diamondbacks. While Larnach gets some favorable matchups against struggling starters like Jack Leiter (5.13 ERA) and Zac Gallen (5.71 ERA), he must also face tough arms like Michael Soroka (3.11 ERA). Given his current slump and lack of momentum, keep him out of active lineups. Verdict: Sit.
