There was a full 15-game slate of MLB games on Tuesday, August 13, so it’s time to go over the day’s top performers, as we do every weekday.

Here are the writeups from Monday’s games (hitters and pitchers).

Nationals 9, Orioles 3

Ildemaro Vargas drove in three runs on a hit, stole a base and scored once for Washington. James Wood had four hits, an RBI and three runs scored.

CJ Abrams had three hits, was plunked by a pitch, stole a base and scored twice for the Nationals. Andres Chaparro had three knocks, an RBI and two runs scored. Jacob Young had two hits and an RBI.

Anthony Santander hit a solo homer and walked once for Baltimore. 

Ryan O'Hearn had two hits, a walk and a run scored for the Orioles. Ryan Mountcastle and Adley Rutschman had two hits each, with Mounstcastle also driving in a run.

Reds 4, Cardinals 1

Jeimer Candelario hit a two-run homer for Cincinnati, while Ty France added a solo shot. 

TJ Friedl had two hits, a walk and a run scored for the Reds. Spencer Steer had a hit, walk and RBI. 

Nolan Arenado hit a solo homer for the lone St. Louis run. Lars Nootbaar had a hit and a walk.

Guardians 2, Cubs 1

Jhonkensy Noel hit a solo homer for Cleveland among his two hits. Jose Ramirez had a hit and a walk.

Nico Hoerner had two hits, two stolen bases and a run scored for Chicago. Isaac Paredes had a hit and a walk.

Tigers 15, Mariners 1

Kerry Carpenter hit two home runs (a two-run shot and solo bomb) for Detroit. He had a third hit in the contest.

Jake Rogers hit a grand slam for the Tigers. He had three total hits and seven RBIs. Javier Baez added a two-run homer, while Gio Urshela had a solo blast. Urshela had four total hits and three runs scored.

Matt Vierling had a hit, stolen base and two runs scored for Detroit. Colt Keith and Bligh Madris each had two hits and two runs scored, with Madris also driving in two and walking once. Zach McKinstry had a pair of hits and a run scored.

Mitch Garver walked twice for Seattle. 

Marlins 5, Phillies 0

Jesus Sanchez and Jake Burger hit solo homers for Miami. Each hitter also walked once and scored a second run.

Xavier Edwards had two hits, two stolen bases and a run scored for Miami. Jonah Bride walked three times and added a hit and RBI.

No Philadelphia hitter got on base more than once.

Astros 3, Rays 2

Jeremy Pena and Alex Bregman each hit a solo homer for Houston. Bregman had three hits and two runs scored in total, while Pena added a second hit. Yainer Diaz had two hits and an RBI.

 No Tampa Bay player got on base more than once.

Red Sox 9, Rangers 4

Connor Wong hit a three-run bomb for Boston. He had a second hit and run scored in the contest.

Masataka Yoshida was plunked by a pitch and had a hit, walk and two runs scored for the Red Sox. Rafael Devers had two knocks and an RBI. Rob Refsnyder and Nick Sogard each drove in two runs on a hit, with Refsnyder also scoring once and Sogard stealing a base. Wilyer Abreu had a hit, walk and run scored.

Leody Taveras had two hits and a run scored for Texas. Nathaniel Lowe had a hit, walk and RBI.

Athletics 9, Mets 4

Shea Langeliers hit a three-run homer for Oakland. He had four hits, four RBIs and two runs scored in total. Langeliers was also hit by a pitch.

JJ Bleday had a hit, two walks and three runs scored for the Athletics. Brent Rooker had two hits and three runs scored. Seth Brown drove in three runs on a hit. Lawrence Butler walked twice, Miguel Andujar had a hit, walk, RBI and run scored and Zack Gelof had a hit, stolen base and walk.

Pete Alonso drove in two runs on a hit for New York. Jose Iglesias and Jesse Winker each drove in a run on two hits, while Winker also scored once.

Francisco Lindor had two hits, a walk and a run scored for the Mets. Mark Vientos had a hit and walked twice. Jeff McNeil finished with a hit and a walk.

Twins 13, Royals 3

Max Kepler hit a three-run homer for Minnesota. Kyle Farmer added a two-run blast, while Christian Vazquez had a solo bomb. Kepler had three hits and four RBIs in total, while Vazquez drove in a second run.

Matt Wallner had two hits, a walk and three runs scored for the Twins. Jose Miranda had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Carlos Santana had two walks and two runs scored. Austin Martin had two knocks and a run scored. 

MJ Melendez and Salvador Perez each hit solo bombs for Kansas City. Michael Massey had two hits and an RBI.

Yankees 4, White Sox 1

Juan Soto hit three homers (a two-run blast and two solo dingers) to power New York. He also walked once.

Aaron Judge had two hits and two walks for the Yankees. Anthony Volpe walked once and was plunked by a pitch.

Miguel Vargas had a hit and a walk for Chicago.

Dodgers 7, Brewers 2

Gavin Lux and Andy Pages hit two-run home runs for Los Angeles, while Will Smith and Shohei Ohtani added solo blasts. Smith had three total hits and two runs scored.

Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman had two knocks each for the Dodgers. 

William Contreras hit a solo homer for Milwaukee. Rhys Hoskins had two knocks.

Blue Jays 6, Angels 1

Spencer Horwitz and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each clubbed solo homers for Toronto. Horwitz also walked and scored a second run.

Will Wagner had two hits and RBIs for the Blue Jays. Joey Loperfido had a hit, walk, stolen base and RBI.

Willie Calhoun hit a solo homer for the lone Los Angeles run. Zach Neto had three knocks and a stolen base, while Brandon Drury had a hit and a walk.

Diamondbacks 4, Rockies 3

Arizona’s Jake McCarthy stayed hot with three hits and two RBIs. Geraldo Perdomo had a hit, two walks and a run scored.

Brendan Rodgers had two hits and a run scored for Colorado. Michael Toglia had a hit, walk and RBI.

Padres 3, Pirates 0

David Peralta hit a solo blast for San Diego. He added a second hit in the contest.

Luis Arraez had two hits, a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored for the Padres. Manny Machado drove in two runs on a hit and walk. 

Bryan Reynolds led Pittsburgh with three hits. 

Braves 4, Giants 3 (10 inn.)

Travis d'Arnaud and Ramon Laureano hit solo bombs for Atlanta. d’Arnaud had a second hit and RBI, while Laureano added a second knock.

Austin Riley had two knocks for the Braves. Jorge Soler had a hit, walk and RBI.

Tyler Fitzgerald hit a solo home run for San Francisco. Heliot Ramos had two knocks, while Matt Chapman had a hit, two walks and a run scored.
