Eleven MLB games were played on Monday, August 12. Although it’s not a full schedule of action, there’s enough to discuss from a fantasy baseball perspective.

Reds 6, Cardinals 1

Spencer Steer hit two home runs (a three-run blast and two-run shot) to power Cincinnati. Elly De La Cruz hit a solo homer. Steer also walked once and stole a base, while De La Cruz added a second hit.

Jake Fraley had a hit, walk and two runs scored for the Reds. He also stole two bases.

Paul Goldschmidt had two hits for St. Louis. 

Guardians 9, Cubs 8

Jhonkensy Noel hit two homers (a three-run blast and solo bomb) for Cleveland. Steven Kwan added a two-run home run. Kwan also walked twice and scored a second run. 

Jose Ramirez had two hits, a stolen base and three runs scored for the Guardians. Josh Naylor had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored, while Austin Hedges had two hits and a run scored. 

Ian Happ hit a two-run homer for Chicago, while Pete Crow-Armstrong added a solo blast. Happ also walked three times and scored three runs total.

Seiya Suzuki had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Cubs. Dansby Swanson drove in three runs on a hit, while Isaac Paredes walked twice, was hit by a pitch and scored once. Nico Hoerner had a hit, walk, RBI and run scored.

Astros 6, Rays 1

Yainer Diaz hit a three-run homer for Houston, while Alex Bregman had a solo bomb. 

Yordan Alvarez had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Astros. Jose Altuve had two hits and a run scored, while Jeremy Pena had two knocks and was plunked by a pitch. Jon Singleton had a hit and a walk.

Taylor Walls had two knocks for Tampa Bay. 

Red Sox 5, Rangers 4 (10 inn.)

Rob Refsnyder had two hits, a walk and an RBI for Boston. Nick Sogard had two knocks and an RBI.

Connor Wong and Dominic Smith had a hit and walk each for the Red Sox. Wong also scored once. Ceddanne Rafaela had a hit, was plunked by a pitch, stole a base and scored once.

Corey Seager hit a two-run homer for Texas. He had a second hit and also walked once. Leody Taveras had a hit, walk, stolen base and run scored.

Twins 8, Royals 3

Willi Castro hit a three-run bomb for Minnesota, while Royce Lewis added a two-run blast. Lewis had a second hit and run scored.

Trevor Larnach had a hit, walk and two runs scored for the Twins. Max Kepler had two knocks, while Matt Wallner had a hit, walk and RBI. Carlos Santana had a hit, walk and run scored.

Bobby Witt Jr. hit a solo homer for Kansas City. Kyle Isbel had three knocks and an RBI.

White Sox 12, Yankees 2

Brooks Baldwin hit a three-run homer for New York, while Korey Lee added a solo blast. Lee had a second hit and run scored, along with a walk. 

Gavin Sheets had four hits, four RBIs and a run scored for the White Sox. Andrew Benintendi had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored, while Andrew Vaughn had four knocks and two runs scored. 

Dominic Fletcher had three hits, an RBI and two runs scored for Chicago. Nicky Lopez had a hit, walk, RBI and run scored.

Aaron Judge had two hits, a walk and an RBI for New York. Jazz Chisholm Jr. had two knocks, a stolen base and a run scored, while Anthony Volpe had a hit, two walks and an RBI. 

Juan Soto walked three times for the Yankees. Alex Verdugo had two walks and a run scored, while Austin Wells, Gleyber Torres and DJ LeMahieu all had a hit and a walk.

Dodgers 5, Brewers 2

Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani hit two-run homers for Los Angeles. Ohtani also walked, stole a base and scored a second run, while Betts had a second hit, stole a base and a third RBI.

Will Smith walked twice for the Dodgers.

William Contreras hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee. He had a second hit and also walked once.

Willy Adames had two hits for the Brewers. Gary Sanchez had a hit and a walk.

Blue Jays 4, Angels 2

Leo Jimenez hit a two-run homer for Toronto. Will Wagner had three hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had two hits, a walk and a run scored for the Blue Jays. Steward Berroa walked three times.

Mickey Moniak and Jo Adell hit solo homers for Los Angeles. 

Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 4

Jake McCarthy had two hits and RBIs, along with a stolen base, for Arizona, while Kevin Newman had two knocks, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Josh Bell had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Diamondbacks. 

Brendan Rodgers hit a solo homer for Colorado. He had a second RBI in the contest.

Jake Cave led the Rockies with three knocks, while also scoring once. Michael Toglia had two hits and a run scored. Elias Diaz had two hits and RBIs. 

Padres 2, Pirates 1

Ha-Seong Kim had two of the six San Diego hits in the contest. He also stole a base.

Oneil Cruz had two hits and a walk for Pittsburgh. Bryan De La Cruz had two hits and a run scored. Andrew McCutchen had a hit, a walk, was plunked by a pitch and also drove in a run.

Braves 1, Giants 0 (10 inn.)

Marcell Ozuna had two of the four Atlanta hits in the game. Jorge Soler walked two times.

No San Francisco player reached base more than once.
