Gary Sanchez | Fantasy Outlook

Power-hitting veteran Gary Sanchez remains trapped in a deep slump with limited playing time.

Sánchez is currently mired in a deep slump, going hitless over his last six at-bats and batting just .111 over the past 14 days. The first-place Brewers (37-22) are keeping him in a strict backup role behind William Contreras at catcher and Christian Yelich at designated hitter. With no injuries opening up playing time, Sánchez remains an occasional bench option.

While our season projection of 12 home runs and a .223 batting average shows his potential, his current .189 average and recent .125 mark over the last 30 days highlight a brutal slump. His legendary raw power is still intact, but without regular starts, he is a massive drain on ratios who cannot be trusted in standard formats.

Milwaukee wraps up their series with San Francisco before heading to hitter-friendly Coors Field for three games against Colorado. The Brewers face highly targetable arms, including Adrian Houser (5.83 ERA) and Kyle Freeland (8.06 ERA). However, since Sánchez is only projected for 14.4 at-bats this week, he cannot be trusted.
