Fantasy Baseball Outfielder Breakdown: Can Pete Crow-Armstrong and James Wood Stick in the Top 10?
Assessing fantasy outfielders in the middle of June.
Let's continue our breakdown series on fantasy baseball positions by going over outfielders. We'll lump them all into one story instead of doing stories on each of the three outfield spots.
Here are the breakdown stories for catchers, first basemen, second basemen, shortstops and third basemen.

Top Performers
Using ESPN fantasy settings and position eligibility, here is a look at the top-producing fantasy outfielders so far.
Aaron Judge leads the way, and it's not particularly close. He's nearing 300 fantasy points, and there's only seven other outfielders who have reached 200 points.
Kyle Tucker is a distant second, and Pete Crow-Armstrong is a good ways behind him for third. Juan Soto and Corbin Carroll are close to PCA. James Wood, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Mookie Betts are the only other outfielders to have hit 200 fantasy points.
Jung Hoo Lee and Seiya Suzuki are the final two members of the top 10 right now. TJ Friedl, Jackson Chourio, Andy Pages, Steven Kwan and Tyler Soderstrom are the next five on the list.
Cody Bellinger, Heliot Ramos, Julio Rodriguez, Jarren Duran and Jose Altuve are the final members of the top 20.
Judge leads the way in runs scored, with 65 so far. Carroll is second at 55 runs, while Tatis (53) and Soto and Crow-Armstrong (51 each) are the only others over 50 runs.
Judge leads the way in total bases (199). The next closest is Carroll at 159 total bases, and PCA has 151 so far. Judge has an outfielder-best 60 RBIs. Suzuki is at 58, while PCA is at 57. Wood (51) and Teoscar Hernandez (50) are the only other guys who have reached 50.
Soto leads the way in walks with 60. Tucker is at 48, while Judge has 47. Oneil Cruz and Jose Caballero lead the way with 25 stolen bases each. PCA has 23 stolen bases, while Luis Robert Jr. has 21.
Riley Greene has the most strikeouts (93) among outfielders. Cruz has 89, while Lawrence Butler has 86 so far. Randy Arozarena (84), Wood (83), Duran (82) and Taylor Ward, Bryan Reynolds and Robert (80 each) are all at 80 Ks or more.
ADP Check In
Judge was the No. 2 pick overall on average, so to have him be the top fantasy scorer so far is living up to the hype, and then some. He might eventually be passed by Shohei Ohtani now that he's pitching too, but Judge has absolutely lived up to the preseason hype.
Soto was the next off draft boards among outfielders, so he's also delivered like fantasy owners expected. Tucker was next up, so he's also been great so far.
Yordan Alvarez was the next outfielder taken. Injuries have derailed his season and turned him into a bust.
Carroll was next off draft boards, so he's actually outplaying his preseason hype so far. The same could be said for Tatis, who was the next outfielder taken.
Acuna was the next outfielder taken on average. Fantasy owners waited a long time for him to take the field, but he's starred since coming back. If he stays healthy the rest of the season, he should finish among the top fantasy outfielders.
Chourio was next off draft boards. He's technically fallen a few spots, but he's not been a huge bust. The same could be said for Rodriguez.
Jackson Merrill was next off boards. His season has been hampered by injuries, and it's turning him into a bust unfortunately.
Anthony Santander, Duran, Kwan, Wyatt Langford, Michael Harris II, Bellinger, Rooker and Reynolds are some of the next outfielders taken. Duran, Kwan and Bellinger have been good. Santander, Harris and Reynolds have been busts to varying degrees.
Wood went around pick 112, so he's been a big-time draft steal. Lee went around pick 139, so he's been another overachiever so far. You can add Suzuki (pick 117 on average) to that list.
Friedl and Pages have been massive overachievers too, but started the year as waiver wire pickups, not even draft possibilities.
Trending Up
Among qualified outfielders over the past 15 days, Acuna has the top average at .442.
Dane Myers is next at a .378 average. He's owned in just 7% of leagues right now. Alec Burleson is next at a .372 average - he's rostered in 34% of leagues.
Tatis is at a .356 average, while Judge sits with a .324 average. Jake Mangum owns a .319 average over the past couple weeks. Greene and Soto are each at .317 averages.
Rodriguez is hitting .315 of late, while Jake Meyers is at .304. Meyers is owned in just 15% of leagues. Adolis Garcia and Alek Thomas are each at .300 averages. Garcia is owned in 61% of leagues, while Thomas is at just 2%.
Most of the same guys lead the way in OBP as well. Friedl has a .205 average, but a .367 OBP. He's rostered in 87% of leagues.
Carroll is getting on base at a .362 clip over the past couple weeks. Jordan Beck is at a .357 OBP, as are Alex Call and Brandon Nimmo. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Lee are each at .354 OBPs over the past 15 days.
Jo Adell, Acuna, Carroll, Friedl, Ian Happ, Judge and Nimmo are all tied at four homers over the past couple weeks. Mangum has 11 RBIs, while Happ has 10.
How to Proceed
Judge was the top fantasy outfielder in the game before the season, and that's not going to stop, unless he's injured. It would take the moon to get him off my fantasy team - he's just too valuable to give up.
Tucker, Soto, Carroll, Tatis and Betts have been there and done that, and all seem like good bets to finish inside the top-10 fantasy outfielders by the end of the season. Injuries could definitely change that though.
Crow-Armstrong, Wood, Lee and Suzuki are top-10 outfielders now who could fall out of that list by the end of the season. They all certainly seem capable of sticking in it, but if you are skeptical of them for the long haul, selling them now would net you a massive return. I think PCA and Wood have the best chances of those four to stick in the top 10.
Friedl, Pages, Soderstrom and Ramos are the fantasy outfielders ranked between 10-20 right now who could fall back outside the top 20 by the end of the season. They don't have the highest trade values right now, so I'd hope they stick there until their own percentages hit 100 and then look to trade them.
Chourio, Kwan, Bellinger, Rodriguez, Duran and Altuve all have good chances of sticking in the top 20, or even sliding into the top 10. A couple of those outfielders haven't even really performed super well this season yet, so don't write them off.
There's a number of other outfielders in the top 50 who I could see sticking in the upper echelon of fantasy outfielders.
Names to keep tabs on are: Brendan Donovan, Hernandez, Hunter Goodman, Gurriel, Sal Frelick, Butler, Cruz, Greene, Happ, Christian Yelich, Nick Castellanos, Gavin Sheets, Langford, Trent Grisham, Tommy Edman, Kerry Carpenter, Cedric Mullins and Arozarena.
Hopefully there's not too many other big injuries to fantasy outfielders this season. It'll be fun to see how the top 10, 20 and 50 evolves between now and the end of the season.
There's plenty of good options out there, so make sure to constantly be looking for the best options, as you have so many streaming opportunities at a loaded position.
