Seth Lugo lines up for a two-start week despite recent ratio turbulence

Lugo has endured a bumpy stretch over his last 14 days, yielding an 8.82 ERA across 10.2 innings as traffic on the basepaths continues to mount for the veteran right-hander. Even with his individual run-prevention struggles, the Royals have caught fire on an eight-game winning streak, and Lugo remains locked into the rotation as Kansas City's reliable number two starter.

His 4.78 ERA and 1.40 WHIP through 26 starts sit noticeably above our projected 3.96 ERA, driven by an uncharacteristically low strikeout rate and a high hit rate. While his pinpoint command has not wavered with zero walks issued across his last two starts, his pitch-to-contact profile makes him vulnerable to ratio damage when he misses over the plate.

Lugo offers two-start volume this week, traveling to face Toronto on Tuesday against Max Scherzer before squaring off in Cleveland against Parker Messick on Sunday. While both road matchups carry ratio risk, the sheer inning volume in points leagues and deeper mixed formats gives him weekly viability. Two-Start Stream.
