Diamondbacks 5, Guardians 3 (Game 1)
Eduardo Rodriguez earned the win for Arizona after pitching the first 5 2/3 innings. He allowed three runs on four hits and two walks, while striking out one.
Kevin Ginkel, Ryan Thompson and Joe Mantiply all earned holds before Justin Martinez claimed his second save.
Carlos Carrasco took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits and two walks over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out five.
Angels 8, Yankees 2 (Game 1)

Brandon Pfaadt improved to 6-6 after striking out six over 6 1/3 innings. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk and lowered his earned run average to 3.92.
A.J. Puk, Dylan Floro and Mantiply earned holds before the D-Backs pulled away.
Ben Lively took the loss and slipped to 10-7. He allowed four runs on four hits and four walks over five innings, while striking out two.
Cubs 8, Twins 2
Javier Assad started for Chicago and allowed two runs on three hits and two walks over four frames. He struck out one and now has a 3.24 ERA.
Jorge Lopez eventually got the win after working two scoreless innings.
Joe Ryan pitched two innings for Minnesota before leaving with an injury. He allowed a run on a hit, while striking out two and walking none.
Trevor Richards pitched next and took the loss after allowing three runs over 2/3 of an inning.
Astros 6, Rangers 4
Yusei Kikuchi improved to 5-9 after striking out eight over 5 1/3 innings. He gave up two runs on four hits and three walks.
Bryan Abreu and Ryan Pressly earned holds before Josh Hader secured his 24th save.
Jose Urena took the loss for Texas. He allowed two runs on six hits and three walks over four innings. Urena did not record a strikeout.
Athletics 3, White Sox 2
Joey Estes started and allowed two runs on six hits over five innings for Oakland. He struck out four and walked none.
T.J. McFarland eventually got the win. Tyler Ferguson picked up a hold before Mason Miller tossed a scoreless ninth to grab his 16th save.
Davis Martin started and worked six scoreless innings for Chicago. He allowed two hits and a walk, while striking out four.
Touki Toussaint pitched next and took the loss. Dominic Leone was charged with a blown save.
Yankees 5, Angels 2 (Game 2)
Luis Gil improved to 12-5 after striking out six over five scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and five walks and now has a 3.06 ERA.
Luke Weaver eventually earned a hold, and Clay Holmes worked the ninth for his 24th save.
Davis Daniel took the loss after surrendering five runs on seven hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings. He struck out four along the way.
Marlins 6, Reds 4
Valente Bellozo got his first win after working 5 2/3 scoreless innings for Miami. He allowed five hits and two walks, while striking out four.
Jesus Tinoco later earned a hold before Calvin Faucher grabbed his second save.
Andrew Abbott fell to 9-9 after allowing six runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven along the way and saw his ERA rise to 3.70.
Padres 9, Pirates 8 (10 inn.)
Michael King started for San Diego, working the first five innings. He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks, while striking out seven.
Jeremiah Estrada pitched next and was charged with a blown save. Tanner Scott eventually got the win despite allowing two runs (one earned). Adrian Morejon got the save after getting the final three outs in the 10th.
Marco Gonzales allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks over 4 2/3 innings for Pittsburgh. He struck out three.
Jalen Beeks and Aroldis Chapman earned holds before David Bednar blew the save. Colin Holderman took the loss after allowing three runs (one earned) in the 10th.
Giants 7, Nationals 4
Blake Snell earned his second win after striking out eight over six innings. He allowed three runs on four hits and a walk.
Ryan Walker and Tyler Rogers earned holds before Camilo Doval locked up his 22nd save.
Jake Irvin took the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk over five frames. He struck out four and saw his ERA rise to 3.76.
Orioles 7, Blue Jays 3
Trevor Rogers started for Baltimore and allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks over five frames. He struck out two.
Burch Smith pitched next and got the win. Yennier Cano earned a hold before the Orioles scored and took away the save situation.
Bowden Francis allowed two runs on three hits and a walk over five innings in his start for Toronto. He struck out seven batters.
Genesis Cabrera earned a hold before Ryan Burr took the loss and was charged with a blown save.
Brewers 8, Braves 5
Freddy Peralta earned his seventh win despite allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out six.
Nick Mears and Joel Payamps earned holds before the Brewers scored and took away the save situation. Devin Williams allowed a run in the ninth after coming in with a four-run lead.
Chris Sale struck out 10 over 4 2/3 innings for Atlanta. He allowed three runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks. Sale still has a 2.75 ERA.

Cardinals 5, Rays 2
Erick Fedde earned his eighth win after striking out six over five innings for St. Louis. He allowed a run on four hits and two walks.
JoJo Romero and Andrew Kittredge earned holds before Ryan Helsley got his 36th save.
Taj Bradley allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks over 4 2/3 innings and took the loss for Tampa Bay. He struck out three batters and now has a 3.07 ERA.
Royals 8, Red Sox 4
Cole Ragans improved to 9-7 after striking out seven over 6 1/3 innings for Kansas City. He allowed four runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks. He’s got a 3.27 ERA now.
Lucas Erceg earned a hold before KC scored and took away the save situation.
Kutter Crawford took the loss after surrendering six runs on five hits and four walks over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out three.
Mets 5, Rockies 3
Paul Blackburn started for New York, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks over six frames. He struck out six and now has a 3.86 ERA.
Jose Butto got the win after firing two scoreless innings. Edwin Diaz claimed his 14th save despite allowing a run in the ninth.
Ryan Feltner lasted just one inning in his start for Colorado because of an injury. He allowed a run on two hits, while striking out one and walking none.
Victor Vodnik eventually took the loss after allowing three runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Tigers 6, Mariners 2
Tarik Skubal struck out nine over seven innings for Detroit. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks. Skubal is now 13-4 with a 2.57 ERA.
Jason Foley earned a hold before Detroit pulled away.
George Kirby took the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out seven and saw his ERA rise to 3.13.
Phillies 9, Dodgers 4
Tyler Phillips improved to 4-1 after working the first five innings for Philadelphia. He allowed four runs on six hits and a walk, while striking out three.
Gavin Stone pitched the first 4 2/3 innings for LA, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk. He struck out two.
