Looking at closers from each MLB team as August winds down.

With the MLB season winding down, I've noticed that our fantasy baseball closer reports have been losing interest.

So instead of doing two stories breaking things down between the National and American Leagues, we'll combine everything into one story from here on out. We'll cover teams in the order of best records. Let's dive in!

For the latest player updates, be sure to head to FantasySP to utilize the real-time player news engine for all sports. The player news engine is the most robust and fastest player news system in fantasy sports. Signing up for a FantasySP membership can help you track all your fantasy players.

National League

Trevor Megill is the closer for the NL-leading Brewers. He earned a save on Thursday after blowing a save, but earning a win on Sunday.

He's owned in 97% of leagues now.

Jhoan Duran is still the Phillies' closer, even after the return of Jose Alvarado. Duran earned saves on Sunday and Tuesday and is owned in all fantasy leagues finally.

Daniel Palencia is the closer for the Cubs. He earned saves on Tuesday and Wednesday so far this week.

Palencia is up to 77% owned, and it should be higher considering he's looked good since taking over the closer role. He's also on one of the best teams in the big leagues, which adds fantasy value for a closer.

The Dodgers' closer role is still up in the air while Tanner Scott continues to miss games. Nobody earned a save this week for LA.

Alex Vesia blew a save, but got a win on Sunday, so he looks like the leader for saves for the time being. Keep an eye on this situation daily.

Robert Suarez is the San Diego closer, but no Padre has a save since Saturday. Suarez took a loss on Sunday, and has pitched twice since. Mason Miller has worked twice, and not earned a result.

Suarez is at 98% owned, while Miller is at 96%. If the saves keep alluding San Diego, both could drop a bit.

Edwin Diaz still closes games for the Mets. His last appearance was a 31-pitch save on Saturday.

He's still rostered and utilized in all leagues, but New York needs to win a bit more to really maximize Diaz's fantasy outlook. He's one of the top fantasy closers for the stretch run.

Emilio Pagan has been the Reds' closer, but he might have lost the role. He blew saves on Saturday and Sunday.

Scott Barlow earned a save on Monday before Tony Santillan earned one on Tuesday. Pagan hasn't pitched since Sunday.

Pagan is down to 87% rostered, and he'll keep dropping if he's not pitching, and will drastically fall off if he's not earning saves when he appears. This is a situation to keep a close eye on moving forward.

After trading Ryan Helsley at the deadline, St. Louis has been looking for a new closer. It appears that JoJo Romero and Riley O'Brien are the leading guys for save chances.

Romero had a save on Thursday. He earned holds on Monday and Tuesday and was tagged with a loss on Sunday. O'Brien blew a save on Sunday and earned a save on Tuesday.

The save chances might be split between the two the rest of the season. Romero is at 37% owned, while O'Brien is at 14%. This is another situation to monitor daily.

Andrew Saalfrank might have earned the closer role in Arizona.

He had a blown save on Saturday, but picked up a save on Tuesday and then got a win on Wednesday. Nobody else on the team has a save since Saturday.

Saalfrank is only owned in 1% of leagues, so fantasy owners are not convinced the job is his yet. Keep monitoring this situation to see if he's the go-to closer.

Randy Rodriguez is the Giants' closer now, but the team isn't winning enough to support him. He earned a save on Monday, but that's the only time he's pitched since Saturday.

He's at 61% rostered, and should stick there until he earns more save chances, or pitches more in general.

There's still no clear closer for the Marlins. Anthony Bender got a save on Sunday, but has hit the 15-day injured list now.

Ronny Henriquez and Calvin Faucher look like the top options for saves. They both pitched on Wednesday, with Henriquez earning a hold. Henriquez also pitched on Monday.

Henriquez is at 43% owned because of some big strikeout totals. Faucher is at 31% owned. It's another situation to keep tracking daily.

Raisel Iglesias is enjoying a monster week as the Braves' closer. He earned saves on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

He's way up to 90% owned, and has been trending up for a month-plus now. I'm not sure the Braves will win enough down the stretch to get him to 100%, but until the team cools off, Iglesias is a really good fantasy option.

Dennis Santana is the Pirates' closer. He picked up saves on Monday and Wednesday so far this week.

He's rostered in 42% of leagues and will continue trending up with more saves. I'm not sure Pittsburgh will win enough to get him into all standard leagues.

Jose A. Ferrer is having a big week and is a waiver wire option because of it. He earned saves on Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday so far.

He's rostered in 19% of fantasy leagues and rising.

Victor Vodnik is the Rockies' closer, but Jimmy Herget also got a save this week.

Vodnik earned a save on Saturday and win on Monday. Herget got his save on Sunday. Vodnik is the guy you want in some deeper leagues - he's owned in 26% of leagues.

American League

Kyle Finnegan has the Tigers' only save since Saturday, and it came on Saturday. He pitched on Tuesday for his only other appearance this week.

Will Vest  had a hold on Saturday and win on Monday.

Finnegan is rostered in 84% of fantasy leagues, while Vest is at 66%. Both are pitching well enough to roster in standard leagues, especially if they each earn occasional saves. It's a situation to keep monitoring.

Jeff Hoffman is the Toronto closer, but he has worked once and doesn't have a save since Saturday. He's at 95%, and won't get to 100% unless he earns more saves.

Without Josh Hader around, the Houston closer role is up for grabs. Nobody has a save this week.

Bennett Sousa blew a save on Saturday. Bryan Abreu is the other guy in the running for saves.

Abreu is at 73% rostered, while Sousa is at 8%. This is another situation you should be monitoring daily.

David Bednar is the Yankees' closer, but he blew a save on Wednesday, which allowed Devin Williams to get a save. Bednar had a save last Saturday.

Bednar is the most-rostered Yankee reliever at 85%, while Williams is at 75%. Luke Weaver (48%) and Camilo Doval (44%) are also rostered in a good amount of leagues.

It's another situation to keep monitoring, but it might remain a mess the rest of the season.

Aroldis Chapman is the Red Sox' closer, and had saves on Saturday and Thursday. He's at 95% rostered and is a good fantasy closer for the stretch run.

Andres Munoz is the Seattle closer, but he hasn't worked since Saturday. He's still owned in all leagues and is a good fantasy option, but he needs to pitch more to remain owned in all leagues.

Carlos Estevez is the Royals' closer, but John Schreiber also earned a save this week after the top reliever pitched back-to-back days.

Estevez earned saves on Monday and Thursday, while Schreiber got his on Tuesday. Estevez is at 92% owned, and is a good and somewhat underrated fantasy option for the stretch run.

Cade Smith is the Cleveland closer for the time being. He had a save on Monday, but blew a save on Wednesday. Smith is trending down a bit and is owned in 80% of leagues.

Texas' closer situation is messy. Shawn Armstrong got the team's lone save since Saturday, picking it up on Sunday. He's worked just once since.

Armstrong is at 11% owned. Phil Maton is at 19%, and Robert Garcia is at 17%. Watch this situation daily, but expect a messy closer situation the rest of the season.

Kenley Jansen is the Angels' closer, but Luis Garcia picked up a save on Wednesday after Jansen got injured. That makes this a situation to monitor going forward.

Pete Fairbanks is the Rays' closer. He earned a save on Saturday and took a loss on Wednesday. He's sitting at 84% rostered, but the team likely won't win enough down the stretch to up that percentage.

Baltimore's closer role is up in the air with Felix Bautista out for the season, and for a while

Corbin Martin earned a save on Tuesday. He's owned in just 1% of leagues. Keegan Akin is at 14%, while Yennier Cano sits at 4%. Keep watching this team daily to see if anyone ever emerges - I don't see it happening.

Four Athletics earned a save this week, so this situation is a mess. Osvaldo Bido got a 44-pitch save on Thursday. Tyler Ferguson claimed the save on Wednesday, Hogan Harris earned one on Tuesday and Sean Newcomb claimed one back on Saturday.

I have no idea who would earn a save if the team got a save chance today. Newcomb is the most rostered at 7%. This is another team to keep watching daily.

No Twin earned a save this week. Justin Topa is the most-owned Minnesota reliever at 6%. The Twins aren't likely to win enough to support a go-to closer regardless.

No White Sox has emerged, and the bullpen has been terrible this week. Grant Taylor took a loss, as did Tyler Alexander. Steven Wilson blew two saves.

Taylor is at 11% owned, while Wilson is barely owned. Chicago won't win enough to support a go-to closer either.
