Jose A. Ferrer emerges as a reliable high-leverage weapon for the first-place Mariners

The first-place Mariners, currently 47-46, have relied heavily on the 26-year-old lefty as their bullpen has been thin due to injuries to Matt Brash and Cooper Criswell. He has solidified his spot as the primary setup option in the late innings according to recent usage patterns.

While his career numbers suggest a pitcher prone to traffic, Ferrer has significantly outperformed our season projections recently.
