Weekend Fantasy Baseball Projections and Waiver Wire Hitting Options
Looking at the top-projected fantasy baseball players for Friday-Sunday to identify some possible streaming options.
The fantasy baseball season is about to kick back into high gear on Friday with the return of MLB games.
We usually do a story looking at the top-projected players for the week to determine some possible waiver wire options. We'll do the same, but be looking at projections for just Friday-Sunday - a weekend projection story, if you will.
Every team will play three games over the weekend. Let's dive into things!

Second Basemen
Luis Garcia Jr. is projected for 11 fantasy points over the weekend. He's rostered in 61% of fantasy leagues right now.
To this point of the season, Garcia has played in 85 games and logged 327 plate appearances. He has a .259 average and .300 OBP, along with 43 RBIs, 41 runs scored, 18 walks, eight stolen bases and 46 strikeouts. Among Garcia's 78 hits, he has 20 doubles and seven homers.
Otto Lopez (67% rostered) is set for 10 fantasy points, as is Tommy Edman (74%) and Nick Gonzales (6%).
Jeff McNeil (22%), Jorge Polanco (44%), Bryson Stott (61%), Jonathan India (43%), Jake Cronenworth (33%), Ozzie Albies (82%) and Gleyber Torres (46%) are all projected for nine points.
Catchers
Ivan Herrera is set for 12 points over the weekend - that's tied for the most points at the position. He's owned in 73% of leagues.
He has a .320 average and .394 OBP over 43 games and 175 plate appearances this season. Herrera has eight doubles and home runs among his 49 total hits, along with 36 RBIs, 22 runs scored, three stolen bases, 17 walks and 32 strikeouts.
Agustin Ramirez (84%) is projected for 11 fantasy points, while Carson Kelly (48%) is set for 10.
Ryan Jeffers (15%), Alejandro Kirk (76%), Yainer Diaz (84%), Shea Langeliers (75%) and Drake Baldwin (23%) are all set at nine points.
Third Basemen
Nolan Arenado is the most-widely available fantasy third baseman set at 10 fantasy points this weekend. He's still rostered in 74% of leagues.
Arenado has a .246 average and .305 OBP over 84 games and 347 plate appearances this season. Among his 78 total hits, he has 13 doubles, 10 home runs and one triple. Arenado also has 42 RBIs, 39 runs scored, a stolen base, 25 walks and 34 strikeouts this season.
Jordan Westburg (88%) and Zach McKinstry (80%) are also set at 10 fantasy points each.
Caleb Durbin (24%), Alec Bohm (83%), Ernie Clement (44%) and Brady House (10%) are all projected for nine fantasy points.
Outfielders
Chandler Simpson is a fantasy outfielder who is set for 12 points this weekend. He's rostered in 58% of leagues right now.
Simpson has a .308 average and .340 OBP over 200 plate appearances and 53 games so far this season. He has a triple and six doubles among his 57 total hits, along with 14 RBIs, 23 runs scored, 26 stolen bases, 10 walks and 18 strikeouts.
Jung Hoo Lee (66%) is among the fantasy outfielders set at 11 points. Cedric Mullins (56%), TJ Friedl (70%), Evan Carter (33%), Trevor Larnach (18%), Sal Frelick (68%), Nick Castellanos (88%) and Parker Meadows (9%) all check in at 10 fantasy points.
A bunch of fantasy outfielders are projected for nine points, including: Roman Anthony (73%), Jake McCarthy (7%), Giancarlo Stanton (28%), Marcell Ozuna (87%), Ceddanne Rafaela (87%), Ramon Laureano (20%), Josh Lowe (46%), Jesus Sanchez (10%), Bryan Reynolds (71%), Jo Adell (69%), Wenceel Perez (11%), Trent Grisham (29%), Michael Harris II (64%), Tyler O'Neill (24%), Javier Baez (42%) and Wilyer Abreu (75%).
First Basemen
Nick Kurtz is projected for 11 points over the weekend. He's rostered in 71% of leagues.
Kurtz has a .257 average and .333 OBP over his first 58 games and 235 plate appearances as a big leaguer. He has 17 home runs, nine doubles and one triple among his 53 total hits, along with 44 RBIs, 33 runs scored, a stolen base, 25 walks and 78 strikeouts.
Nolan Schanuel (34%), Alec Burleson (67%), Josh Bell (8%), Nathaniel Lowe (50%), Jonathan Aranda (79%) and Paul Goldschmidt (85%) are all set for 10 fantasy points.
Ryan O'Hearn (47%), Carlos Santana (17%), Spencer Steer (65%), Wilmer Flores (31%), Spencer Horwitz (6%), Ty France (7%) and Romy Gonzalez (48%) are all at nine projected points.
Shortstops
Xavier Edwards is among the fantasy shortstops projected for 11 points, and he's the most available - he's owned in 63% of leagues.
He's got a .288 average and .352 OBP over 79 games and 357 plate appearances this season. Edwards has 14 doubles, a triple and a homer among his 92 total knocks. He also has 24 RBIs, 40 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, 32 walks and 52 punchouts.
Zach Neto (82%) is another shortstop projected for 11 points. Willy Adames (76%), Carlos Correa (33%), Masyn Winn (50%), Dansby Swanson (85%) and Xander Bogaerts (81%) are shortstops projected for 10 points.
Ha-Seong Kim (14%), J.P. Crawford (35%), Trevor Story (77%), Anthony Volpe (66%) and Josh Smith (55%) are projected for nine points each.
