Jorge Polanco Sidelined Indefinitely After Rehab Setback
Jorge Polanco’s path back to the Mets hit a major roadblock on June 6 when his minor league rehab assignment was shut down due to persistent left Achilles soreness. He has not played a game since mid-April, leaving the fifth-place Mets (29-38) without his veteran presence in the lineup. He remains strictly on the injured list for the foreseeable future.
Prior to his injury, our models projected Polanco for a respectable .246 batting average and 12 home runs over 452 at-bats. Coming off a robust 2025 season where he hit 29 home runs with Seattle, his current .179 average through just 14 games this year is incredibly disappointing. His path to those rest-of-season numbers is heavily clouded by this latest health setback.
The Mets continue their week facing the Cardinals and Braves, including tough matchups against Braves pitchers Spencer Strider and Bryce Elder. With Polanco unavailable for these games, fantasy managers have no choice but to keep him sidelined. If you are strapped for injured list spots, he is a prime candidate to drop. Verdict: Sit.
