Owen Caissie is erupting into a must-start power asset during a massive mid-summer surge

Caissie has been nearly untouchable at the plate lately, slashing a massive .419/.486/.774 over his last 14 days with three home runs and 10 RBI. The 24-year-old is entrenched as the primary right fielder for a third-place Marlins squad that currently holds a 46-41 record and is looking to gain ground in the division. His recent form is highlighted by a 453-foot moonshot on June 30th, confirming the young slugger has found his rhythm at the major league level.

Under the hood, Caissie's recent tear has allowed him to significantly outperform our season projections, as he has already surpassed his expected totals for home runs and RBI with half the season remaining. While his .419 average over the last two weeks is a clear peak, his 1.260 OPS during that span suggests he is evolving into a genuine middle-of-the-order threat. The only concern remains a high strikeout rate, but his elite power makes that a trade-off fantasy managers should be happy to accept.

The upcoming schedule offers a prime environment for Caissie to maintain this momentum, starting with a game today in hitter-friendly Colorado against Michael Lorenzen and his 7.03 ERA. Miami then travels to face the Athletics, where Caissie will match up against high-ERA starters Jack Perkins and Aaron Civale.
