Fantasy Baseball Week 16 Projections and Waiver Wire Hitting Options
Looking at week 16 fantasy baseball projections to identify some possible streaming options.
A new week of fantasy baseball has arrived. As we do at the start of each new week, let's go over weekly projections and highlight some possible waiver wire hitting options.
As we do with each of these stories, we'll mention any hitters projected for at least 20 fantasy points. We skip players rostered in 90% of leagues or more, but mention everyone else.

Shortstops
Chicago White Sox' Colson Montgomery is projected for 30 fantasy points over seven games this week. He's owned in 9% of leagues after recently being called up.
Montgomery has played in three MLB games so far. He has five hits, including a triple, over his first 10 at-bats for a .500 average, and has walked twice to have a .583 on-base percentage. He has two RBIs, no runs scored and two strikeouts as well.
Miami's Xavier Edwards is owned in 59% of leagues and is projected for 27 fantasy points over seven games this week.
He's played in 72 games and logged 326 plate appearances so far this season. Edwards has a .284 average and .355 OBP, along with 19 RBIs, 35 runs scored, 32 walks and 50 strikeouts. He has 82 total hits, including nine doubles and one triple - he still hasn't homered.
Los Angeles Angels' Zach Neto (79% rostered) is projected for 25 points over seven contests.
Tampa Bay's Ha-Seong Kim (11%) is set for 23 points over seven contests, as is Boston's Xander Bogaerts (82%).
Boston's Trevor Story (61%), Texas' Josh Smith (45%), St. Louis' Masyn Winn (53%) and Chicago White Sox' Chase Meidroth (53%) are all projected for 22 points. Winn is the only one among that group with six games this week - the others all have seven scheduled games.
Chicago Cubs' Dansby Swanson (84%) and San Francisco's Willy Adames (71%) are each projected for 21 points over six possible games. Tampa Bay's Jose Caballero (31%) is projected for 20 points over seven games.
Outfielders
Tampa Bay's Chandler Simpson is owned in 54% of leagues and is set for 29 fantasy points over seven possible games.
Simpson has a .302 average and .335 OBP over 47 games and 176 plate appearances this season. Among his 59 total hits, Simpson has four doubles and a triple (no home runs). He also has 14 RBIs, 23 runs scored, 24 stolen bases, nine walks and 15 strikeouts.
Cincinnati's TJ Friedl is set for 26 points over seven possible games and has a 76% own mark.
Friedl has a .280 average and .368 OBP over 86 games and 381 plate appearances. He has 92 total hits, including 14 doubles, eight homers and two triples, while also tallying 31 RBIs, 50 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 42 walks and 60 strikeouts.
Texas' Evan Carter (30%) is set for 25 fantasy points over seven games. Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela (57%) is projected for 23 points over seven contests.
Arizona's Jake McCarthy (7%), Boston's Wilyer Abreu (75%), Miami's Jesus Sanchez (10%), San Francisco's Jung Hoo Lee (72%) and Tampa Bay's Josh Lowe (46%) are all projected for 22 fantasy points this week. Lee is the only one in that group to not have seven games scheduled this week - Lee has six games on tap.
LA Angels' Jo Adell (72%) and Baltimore's Cedric Mullins (57%) are set for 21 points. Adell has seven games, while Mullins could play up to six.
Philadelphia's Nick Castellanos (88%), Miami's Dane Myers (4%), Boston's Roman Anthony (66%), Texas' Adolis Garcia (61%) and Colorado's Brenton Doyle (37%) are all projected for 20 fantasy points. Castellanos and Doyle have six scheduled games each, while the others projected for 20 points have seven.
Second Basemen
Miami's Otto Lopez is owned in 69% of leagues and is projected for 25 fantasy points over seven contests.
Lopez has played in 73 games and gotten 302 plate appearances this season. He has a .250 average and .321 OBP, along with 44 RBIs, 38 runs scored, nine stolen bases, 27 walks and 42 strikeouts. Lopez has nine doubles and nine home runs among his 68 total hits.
Washington's Luis Garcia Jr. (65%), Cincinnati's Matt McLain (73%), San Diego's Jake Cronenworth (32%), LA Dodgers' Tommy Edman (87%) and New York Mets' Jeff McNeil (20%) are among the fantasy second basemen projected for 21 fantasy points. Garcia and McNeil have six scheduled games, while the others have seven.
Catchers
Miami's Agustin Ramirez is rostered in 80% of leagues right now. He's projected for 25 points over seven possible games.
Ramirez has a .241 average and .288 OBP over 64 games and 271 plate appearances this season. He has 15 doubles, a triple and 13 home runs among his 61 total hits, along with 37 RBIs, 33 runs scored, 17 walks, a stolen base and 53 strikeouts.
Cincinnati's Tyler Stephenson is owned in 34% of leagues and is set for 22 points over seven contests.
Stephenson has 10 doubles and six homers among his 41 total knocks. He has 25 RBIs, 23 runs scored and walks and 72 strikeouts as well. Stephenson has played in 49 games and logged 201 plate appearances so far.
Boston's Carlos Narvaez (31%) and Athletics' Shea Langeliers (82%) are each projected for 21 points this week. Narvaez could play seven games, while Langeliers has six scheduled.
Chicago Cubs' Carson Kelly (44%) and Toronto's Alejandro Kirk (80%) are projected for 20 points over six games each this week.
Third Basemen
St. Louis' Nolan Arenado is owned in 82% of leagues and is projected for 22 fantasy points over six possible games this week.
Arenado has played in 81 games and logged 336 plate appearances so far. He has a .244 average and .304 OBP so far, along with 41 RBIs, 38 runs scored, a stolen bases, 24 walks and 34 strikeouts. Arenado has 13 doubles, 10 home runs and one triple among his 75 total hits on the season.
Toronto's Ernie Clement (52%), Cincinnati's Noelvi Marte (34%) and Philadelphia's Alec Bohm (87%) are all projected for 20 points this coming week. Marte is scheduled for seven games this week, while Bohm and Clement have six each.
First Basemen
Cincinnati's Spencer Steer is projected for 24 points over seven possible games.
Steer has played in 82 games and gotten 326 plate appearances so far. He has a .253 average and .310 OBP. Steer has 15 doubles, 10 home runs and a triple among his 76 total hits, along with 37 RBIs and runs scored, six stolen bases, 23 walks and 79 strikeouts.
Tampa Bay's Jonathan Aranda (76%) and LA Angels' Nolan Schanuel (35%) are each set for 23 points over seven possible games.
Cleveland's Carlos Santana (17%) is projected for 22 fantasy points over seven scheduled games.
Texas' Jake Burger (36%), St. Louis' Alec Burleson (71%) and Chicago Cubs' Michael Busch (84%) are all set for 21 points this week. Burger has seven games he could play in, while the others have six possible games.
Athletics' Nick Kurtz (62%), Boston's Abraham Toro (11%), Miami's Eric Wagaman (7%) all are set for 20 points this week. Kurtz has six games, while Toro and Wagaman have seven each.
