Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Robinson, Matkovic Among Players to Target
Several players are seeing their fantasy roster percentages climb. Let's look at whether they're worth adding.
Let's discuss another round of fantasy basketball waiver wire options in the third week of the NBA regular season!
We went over a couple of players in an article from Monday, but we have several guys to discuss here. Let's get right to it!
Fantasy basketball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Karlo Matkovic - New Orleans Pelicans
Matkovic has shot up to 15.27% rostered, after being at just 5.5% yesterday.
He has started three straight games for New Orleans, but it was a big outing in his last showing that has him rising today. Matkovic had 25 points, six rebounds, two steals and one block and assist across 29 minutes played.

Over 18.2 minutes a night in his six games played so far, Matkovic is averaging 10 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 0.8 assists and 0.5 blocks. That's not enough production for too much fantasy usage, but his last game showed some upside, and he's a rising fantasy asset as a result.
The Pelicans are missing some notable players, including Yves Missi, which affords Matkovic some more playing time. He'll remain a streaming option until his role diminishes again. He's a better deep-league asset usually, but could be a sneaky-good standard league streaming option right now.
Max Strus - Los Angeles Clippers
Strus is sitting at 6.85% owned right now. He was at 2.87% yesterday.
He got in his first game of the season, after missing the early portion of the year with an injury. Across 23 minutes off the bench, Strus posted 11 points, six assists, four rebounds and one steal.
If he's going to play that much every night, there's some fantasy value to take advantage of with Strus. Because he's coming off the bench though, he's likely to be an inconsistent fantasy performer, making him a better deep-league asset.
Keep tabs on him in case he ever cracks the starting lineup, but for now, Strus is a worthwhile addition in some deeper fantasy setups. Make the move before he's scooped up.
Klay Thompson - Miami Heat
Thompson is rostered in 17.56% of fantasy leagues right now. He was at 10.72% on October 30.
He's started all seven of the games he's appeared in this season, but is averaging just 21.9 minutes a night. Thomson is also averaging 11.9 points, 1.3 assists and rebounds and 0.1 steals and blocks so far.
He's well past his prime, and is really just a role player right now. Thompson can score enough points to have some fantasy value, but his minutes per game and other statistics are just not good enough to view him as anything more than a deep-league option.
So pick him up in some deeper leagues, but be watching his production closely all season, as he'll have times where he's not even worth owning in those leagues.
Isaiah Stewart - Memphis Grizzlies
Stewart has jumped to 17.85% owned, after being at 10.82% two days ago.
He's made one start across his six games played so far, and he's averaging 19.7 minutes a night. Stewart is also averaging 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, 0.7 assists and 0.3 steals per contest, so there's a little fantasy value in him.
His role and playing time off the bench make for some inconsistent fantasy showings though, so he is another player who is a better deep-league option. It'd take some injuries around him to make him a worthwhile standard league streaming option.
I think Stewart is a bit underowned after looking at his statistics so far. He's been scoring it better over the past couple of games, so he's worth at least streaming for the time being, but that's just in deeper leagues.
Duncan Robinson - Detroit Pistons
Robinson is up to 77.02% rostered right now. He was at 70.19% two days ago.
He's started all seven games he's appeared in this season and is averaging 30 minutes played per contest. Robinson is also averaging 17.9 points, 2.3 assists, 2 steals and rebounds and 0.3 blocks.
Robinson is mostly just known for his scoring, but he's doing that at a consistent clip so far, with at least 12 points scored in every game. He has tallied over 20 points on three occasions as well, so there's a decent fantasy value with Robinson.
Because he doesn't do much else on a nightly basis, Robinson is likely never going to get to 100% owned, unless he's scoring 20+ points a night. He's worth roster spots in all deeper leagues though, and is a solid standard league streaming option. Don't overlook Robinson just because he's mostly just scoring - take advantage of his hot start and rack up some fantasy points with him.
