Fantasy Baseball Week 9 Projections and Waiver Wire Hitting Options

Looking at week 9 fantasy baseball projections to identify some possible streaming options.

A new week is here, so it's time to go over some fantasy baseball weekly projections to possibly identify some waiver wire options.

This encompasses May 19-25. Daily waiver wire trends can be found on FantasySP as well.

Shortstops

Los Angeles Angels' Zach Neto is projected for 28 fantasy points across seven games this week. He's currently rostered in 73% of fantasy leagues.

Neto got a late start to the regular season, but has a .283 average and .336 on-base percentage across 27 games and 116 plate appearances so far. He's got eight doubles and seven home runs across 30 total hits, along with 15 RBIs, seven stolen bases, 21 runs scored, seven walks and 34 strikeouts.

Houston's Jeremy Pena is available to about 13% of you, and is projected for 25 fantasy points across seven contests this week.

In 46 games and 193 plate appearances so far, Pena has a .299 average and .354 OBP. He has eight doubles and six homers among his 52 total knocks. Pena also has racked up 23 RBIs, six stolen bases, 23 runs scored, 13 walks and 28 strikeouts.

Chicago Cubs' Dansby Swanson is projected for 24 points over six games this week. He's rostered in 88% of leagues right now.

St. Louis' Masyn Winn (54% rostered) and San Francisco's Willy Adames (88%) are each projected for 21 points across six games. Seattle's J.P. Crawford (23%) and Colorado's Ezequiel Tovar (49%) are each projected for 21 points across seven contests.

San Diego's Xander Bogaerts (87%), Boston's Trevor Story (45%), Pittsburgh's Isiah Kiner-Falefa (12%) and New York Yankees' Anthony Volpe (79%) are projected for 20 fantasy points each this week. Story and Kiner-Falefa have seven games each, while Bogaerts and Volpe could play up to six contests.

Third Basemen

Philadelphia's Alec Bohm is rostered in 76% of leagues and has seven games this week. He's projected for 24 fantasy points.

After a terrible start, Bohm is up to a .256 average and .299 OBP across 43 games and 177 plate appearances. He's got six doubles, two homers and a triple across 42 total hits this season, along with 14 RBIs, a stolen base, 17 runs scored, eight walks and 30 strikeouts.

LA Angels' Yoan Moncada is a surprise name on the weekly projections. He's owned in 5% of leagues, but is projected for 23 fantasy points across seven possible games.

He has a .226 average and .351 OBP across 19 games and 74 plate appearances this season. Moncada has four doubles, three homers and a triple among his 14 total hits, and has 12 RBIs, 11 runs scored and walks and 19 strikeouts for the season.

Athletics' Luis Urias (8%) is projected for 21 fantasy points across seven games. LA Angels' Luis Rengifo (18%) and New York Mets' Mark Vientos (72%) are each set for 20 fantasy points this week - Rengifo has seven games, while Vientos could play up to six.

Second Basemen

Philadelphia's Bryson Stott is rostered in 89% of leagues and is projected for 25 fantasy points across seven possible games this week.

He has a .256 average and .322 OBP across 42 games and 178 plate appearances for the season. Stott has five doubles, four homers and two triples among his 41 total knocks. He also has 24 RBIs, nine stolen bases, 24 runs scored, 15 walks and 35 strikeouts.

Seattle's Dylan Moore is projected for 22 points over seven contests. He's owned in 71% of leagues.

Moore has a .286 average and .345 OBP across 33 games and 110 plate appearances for the season. He has two doubles and seven home runs across 28 total knocks, along with 15 RBIs, seven stolen bases, 19 runs scored, 10 walks and 30 strikeouts.

Boston's Kristian Campbell (75%), LA Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim (41%) and Washington's Luis Garcia Jr. (62%) are projected for 21 points this week. Campbell could play up to seven games, while Kim and Garcia could play in six each.

Miami's Otto Lopez (11%), Detroit's Colt Keith (22%) and San Francisco's Tyler Fitzgerald (31%) are all set for 20 points this week. Keith has seven games, while Lopez and Fitzgerald could play up to six each.

First Basemen

LA Angels' Nolan Schanuel is owned in 12% of leagues, but is projected for 24 fantasy points across seven contests.

He's got a .265 average and .356 OBP across 43 games and 175 plate appearances. Schanuel has seven doubles, two homers and a triple among his 40 total hits. He has 13 RBIs, a stolen base, 23 runs scored, 21 walks and 24 strikeouts as well.

Pittsburgh's Spencer Horwitz is rostered in only 9% of leagues and is set for 23 fantasy points over seven contests.

Horwitz finally got onto the field after an early-season injury. He has a single among his six plate appearances so far, and has struck out once. Horwitz batted fifth in his first game and cleanup in the second.

Cleveland's Carlos Santana (19%) is set for 22 fantasy points across seven games. San Francisco's Wilmer Flores (58%), Houston's Christian Walker (82%), Milwaukee's Rhys Hoskins (38%) and Tampa Bay's Yandy Diaz (75%) are projected for 21 fantasy points each. Santana, Walker and Hoskins could play up to seven games each, while the rest of the first basemen only have six games scheduled.

Cleveland's Kyle Manzardo (37%), Kansas City's Vinnie Pasquantino (84%) and Chicago Cubs' Michael Busch (58%) are all projected for 20 fantasy points. Manzardo has seven games on the schedule, while Pasquantino and Busch have six each.

Catchers

LA Dodgers' Dalton Rushing is projected for 36 points over six possible games. He's owned in 29% of leagues.

Rushing has been good in his first taste of the big leagues, racking up four hits (including a double) across 11 plate appearances in three games played. He has two RBIs, a walk, four runs scored and three strikeouts as well.

St. Louis' Ivan Herrera is projected for 28 fantasy points over six contests. He's rostered in 66% of leagues.

Herrera has played in 15 games and gotten 57 plate appearances so far this season. He's got a .429 average and .491 OBP, along with 18 RBIs, 12 runs scored, five walks and 10 strikeouts. Herrera has six doubles and five home runs among his 21 total hits.

Miami's Agustin Ramirez (40%) is projected for 24 fantasy points over six possible games. Chicago Cubs' Carson Kelly (71%), Philadelphia's J.T. Realmuto (70%) and Houston's Yainer Diaz (86%) all are set for 23 fantasy points - Kelly has six games scheduled, while Diaz and Realmuto could play up to seven each.

Chicago Cubs' Moises Ballesteros (9%) is set for 22 points across six games. Colorado's Hunter Goodman (77%) is projected for 21 points over seven contests.

Cubs' Miguel Amaya (7%) and Pittsburgh's Joey Bart (9%) are each set for 20 points this week. Amaya has six games, while Bart could play up to seven.

Outfielders

Among listed left fielders on our site, Detroit's Kerry Carpenter (85%) with the most projected points (25) among somewhat available players. He has seven games scheduled this week.

LA Angels' Taylor Ward (56%) is set for 23 points over seven games. Athletics' Miguel Andujar (7%) and Arizona's Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (62%) are each projected for 22 points - Andujar has seven games, while Gurriel has six.

New York Mets' Brandon Nimmo (83%) and St. Louis' Lars Nootbaar (88%) are each projected for 21 points over six contests. San Francisco's Heliot Ramos (84%) is set for 20 points over six games.

Among center fielders, Baltimore's Cedric Mullins (82%) is set for 26 fantasy points over seven games. Tampa Bay's Chandler Simpson (41%) is at 23 points over six contests.

Athletics' JJ Bleday (37%) and Detroit's Javier Baez (80%) are each projected for 22 points across seven possible games. Cincinnati's TJ Friedl (49%) and Colorado's Brenton Doyle (68%) are projected for 21 points each this week - Doyle could play seven games, while Friedl has six on the schedule.

Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela (48%) is set for 20 points across seven games. Arizona's Jake McCarthy (7%) is projected for 20 points over six possible games.

Amongst right fielders, Athletics' Lawrence Butler (89%) is the highest-projected waiver wire option. He's set for 25 points over seven possible games.

Philly's Nick Castellanos (86%) and LA Angels' Jorge Soler (33%) are set for 23 points over seven possible games each. Baltimore's Ryan O'Hearn (33%) is projected for 22 points across seven games. 

Milwaukee's Sal Frelick (30%) and Pittsburgh's Bryan Reynolds (80%) could play up to seven games each and are projected for 21 points.

Detroit's Zach McKinstry (53%), Toronto's Anthony Santander (85%) and George Springer (81%) and Minnesota's Trevor Larnach (26%) are all set for 20 fantasy points. Only McKinstry has seven possible games this week.
