Discussing some of the best hitting performances from April 15.

All 30 MLB teams were in action on Monday, April 16, so it’s time to discuss some of the top performers from the day.

Guardians 6, Red Sox 0

Will Brennan hit a two-run home run and finished with two runs scored after coming in as a pinch-hitter for Cleveland. Gabriel Arias raised his average to .308 after collecting three hits, including a triple and double - Arias drove in a run and scored once.

Brayan Rocchio got on base twice for the Guardians. He also drove in a run and scored once.

Tyler O'Neill got on base twice for Boston before leaving with a head injury.

Orioles 7, Twins 4

Cedric Mullins hit a two-run homer for Baltimore on his way to a three-RBI game. Jordan Westburg doubled among his three hits, drove in two runs and scored once.

Ryan O'Hearn homered among his two hits and scored twice for the Orioles. Gunnar Henderson homered among his two hits, got on base three times total, scored once and drove in a run. Adley Rutschman and Ryan Mountcastle each had two hits and a run scored. O'Hearn (.325), Mountcastle (.305) and Westburg (.302) all are batting above .300, with Rutschman (.295) just below the mark.

Ryan Jeffers doubled twice among his three hits and drove in a pair for Minnesota. Jose Miranda hit a solo homer among his three hits and drove in two runs total. 

Rangers 1, Tigers 0

Marcus Semien drove in Jonah Heim for the lone run in the contest. Heim doubled among his two hits and stole a base, while Ezequiel Duran also had two knocks for the Rangers.

Mark Canha doubled among his two hits for Detroit. Kerry Carpenter had a hit and walk, while Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson drew a pair of walks.

Giants 4, Marlins 3

Jung Hoo Lee posted two hits, drew a walk, drove in a run and scored once for San Francisco. Jorge Soler had a hit and was plunked by a pitch.

Avisail Garcia hit a solo homer for Miami. Bryan De La Cruz doubled and drove in a pair. Luis Arraez scored a run and had three hits to bump his average to .284. Tim Anderson got on base twice.

Phillies 2, Rockies 1 (10 inn.)

Bryson Stott had two hits, a stolen base, a walk and a run scored for Philadelphia. Bryce Harper got on base twice and drove in a run. 

Michael Toglia homered for the lone Colorado run. Elias Diaz delivered two hits, while Brenton Doyle got on base twice.

Angels 7, Rays 3

Mike Trout belted a two-run homer among his two hits for Los Angeles. Taylor Ward had a two-run homer among his two hits and scored twice.

Anthony Rendon delivered three hits and scored twice for the Angels. Miguel Sano had three hits, a walk and a run scored. Matt Thaiss got on base twice and drove in three runs.

Harold Ramirez hit a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs for the Rays. Isaac Paredes got on base two times.

Blue Jays 3, Yankees 1

Alejandro Kirk had two hits, including a double, walked once, drove in a run and scored once for Toronto. George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each walked twice.

No New York player reached base twice. Gleyber Torres scored the team’s run, with Oswaldo Cabrera driving him in.

Mets 6, Pirates 3

Francisco Lindor and Starling Marte had two hits each for New York. Lindor also walked and scored a run, while Marte scored once.

Harrison Bader doubled, drove in two runs and scored once for the Mets. Francisco Alvarez walked twice and drove in a run, while DJ Stewart doubled, walked, drove in a run and scored once.

Jared Triolo walked twice and drove in a run for the Pirates. Jack Suwinski walked twice and scored a run, while Andrew McCutchen got on base twice, drove in a run and scored once.

Royals 2, White Sox 0

Vinnie Pasquantino hit a solo homer among his two hits and walked once for Kansas City. Pasquantino also doubled in the contest.

Andrew Benintendi delivered two hits for Chicago. 

Padres 7, Brewers 3

Jackson Merrill improved his average to .356 after posting three hits for San Diego. He drove in two runs as well.

Manny Machado and Luis Campusano had two hits, an RBI and a run scored each. Jake Cronenworth scored twice for the Padres. Ha-Seong Kim got on base three times, scored once and drove in a run.

Jackson Chourio had two hits, including a two-run home run, a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored for Milwaukee. William Contreras had two knocks and walked twice. Willy Adames got on base three times and drove in one run. 

Braves 6, Astros 1

Austin Riley doubled among his three hits and drove in a run for Atlanta. Ronald Acuna Jr. doubled among his two hits, walked once and scored one run.

Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna each got on base twice and drove in a run for the Braves, with Albies also scoring once.

Jose Altuve posted three hits to raise his season average to .403. Alex Bregman had two knocks and the team’s only RBI. Mauricio Dubon got on base twice and stole a base.

Cubs 3, Diamondbacks 2

Michael Busch hit a solo home run and walked twice to lead Chicago. He’s got a .410 on-base percentage now.

Garrett Cooper and Nico Hoerner each had two hits for Chicago, with Hoerner also walking once, driving in a run and scoring. Cody Bellinger posted a hit and walked twice.

Gabriel Moreno was the only Arizona player to reach base twice, walking both times. 

Cardinals 3, Athletics 1

Nolan Arenado, Willson Contreras and Masyn Winn all had two hits for St. Louis. Contreras also drove in a run and scored once, Arenado drove in one and Winn walked once.

Esteury Ruiz homered in his first game back in the big leagues, and it came in a pinch-hit effort. Zack Gelof had two hits for the Athletics.

Mariners 9, Reds 3

Jorge Polanco and Mitch Haniger each homered for Seattle. Polanco finished with three RBIs, two walks and three runs scored, while Haniger had two hits, three RBIs, a walk and two runs scored.

Julio Rodriguez got on base twice, stole a base and scored two runs for the Mariners. Cal Raleigh also got on base twice.

Jeimer Candelario and Jake Fraley each homered for Cincinnati. Fraley finished with two hits and two RBis, while Will Benson and Christian Encarnacion-Strand each had two knocks - with CES also scoring once and Benson stealing a base.

Nationals 6, Dodgers 4

Luis Garcia Jr. hit a three-run homer to power Washington. CJ Abrams hit a solo shot among his two hits and scored twice.

Jesse Winker bumped his average to .354 with a two-hit night - he also scored twice. Joey Gallo got on base twice, scored once and drove in a run.

Max Muncy delivered two hits, drove in one and scored once for Los Angeles. Teoscar Hernandez had two hits and a run scored.

Shohei Ohtani scored twice and stole a base for the Dodgers. Will Smith drove in a pair of runs on a hit.
