Luis Severino remains sidelined with shoulder strain, targeting late-June return

Luis Severino has been sidelined since May 29 with a strained right shoulder and is expected to remain on the injured list until late June. Before the injury, the rotation's staff anchor posted a 4.24 ERA and 1.50 WHIP over 12 starts. His third-place Athletics (33-35) are riding a two-game win streak but sorely miss his presence in the rotation.

Under the hood, Severino's 1.50 WHIP this season indicates significant traffic trouble compared to his more stable 1.27 WHIP in 2024.
