Luis Severino remains out for the season with a shoulder strain

Severino has been sidelined since late May after landing on the 60-day injured list with a strained right shoulder, which is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the year. His absence leaves a void in the rotation for the fourth-place Athletics (53-84), who enter the week riding a three-game losing streak.

Before his shutdown, the veteran right-hander registered a 4.24 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 65 strikeouts over 61.5 innings across 12 starts. While his 9.51 K/9 proved his bat-missing ability remained intact, his elevated walk rate and season-ending injury completely close the book on his 2026 fantasy value.
