Luis Severino | Fantasy Outlook

Luis Severino remains sidelined with a shoulder injury and should be left on the bench

Severino is currently on the 60-day injured list dealing with a strained right shoulder and has no recent games played to report. The Athletics occupy fourth place in the American League West with a 44-61 record, navigating a heavily depleted roster that features several key players sidelined alongside him. With his extended absence keeping him out of action since late May, he holds zero active utility for fantasy managers at this stage of the season.

His performance prior to the injury featured a 4.24 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP across 61.5 innings, hovering close to our season projection of a 4.71 ERA. While his strikeout rate has shown decent flashes with 65 strikeouts over 12 appearances, the elevated traffic on the basepaths limits his overall upside. Our models suggest that upon his eventual return, managers can expect more of the same mid-rotation ratios without elite dominance.

The Athletics are scheduled for a home-heavy week ahead, but Severino is not listed on any upcoming game probable pitching lines while recovering from his shoulder strain. Because he remains sidelined and out of the rotation mix entirely, fantasy managers must make the obvious transaction. Sit.
