Esteury Ruiz ignites Marlins' win streak with elite speed and improved discipline

Ruiz has become a pivotal speed weapon for the second-place Marlins, who enter today riding a five-game win streak with a 51-42 record. Over the last 14 days, he has showcased game-changing wheels with five stolen bases. While his .188 average in that span was low, a massive .625 on-base percentage over the last week suggests he is seeing the ball much better. With teammate Owen Caissie currently questionable, our data suggests his role in the outfield is secure.

His current .244 season average is an exact match for our projection, but 19 stolen bases in 55 games highlight his elite category-winning upside. While his .308 average over the last month represents a significant hot streak, his recent ability to draw walks provides a much higher floor for his speed to manifest.
