4 Fantasy Baseball Starting Pitchers Streamers to Target on Saturday
Four starting pitchers with good matchups on Saturday who are widely available in fantasy leagues.
It's hard to believe, but there's only one more weekend in July after this one, signaling the end of summer on the horizon. Southern states still have plenty of hot weather to come, but football fever will soon be flowing, and fall will be here before we know it. Get outside and take advantage while you can!
Moving to fantasy baseball, let's look at four starting pitchers in action on Saturday with good matchups who are widely available in fantasy leagues. Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable pitchers. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Dustin May, St. Louis Cardinals @ Arizona Diamondbacks
After two straight rough starts, May had two decent outings leading into the All-Star break, giving up just six hits and two runs with 11 strikeouts and four walks. The only problem is that May lasted less than five innings in each of those starts, showing a lack of length to go with decent pitching. He has now had close to a week off thanks to the break, so there's hope that May will be back to his usual self, like when he made 12 straight starts of at least 5 1/3 innings.
Arizona ranks in the bottom 10 or very close to it in runs, hits, home runs, walks, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS. They climbed above .500 with a four-game winning streak heading into the break, including a three-game sweep of the Dodgers. That won't be enough to get them into the division race probably, but the Diamondbacks are in the playoff hunt despite their weak offensive performance so far.
May is a low-to-mid-level streamer. He has been average or better with both walks and strikeouts, but May has had his issues with getting hit too hard at times. Given the struggles since late June, it's best to show a little restraint, though there's a decent outlook here.
Owen Murphy, Atlanta Braves vs. Texas Rangers
Texas has average-or-worse numbers across the board in offensive box stats over the full season, pointing toward them being a decent target. The problem is that the Rangers are much worse at home, as Globe Life Field in Texas plays as one of the best pitcher's parks in baseball. When looking only at away games, the Rangers look like at least an average offense, leaving them as a questionable target team. This game is in Atlanta, helping the cause of the offenses involved.
Murphy has made just two big-league appearances, both out of the bullpen, and he did well, allowing one hit and one earned run in four innings with four strikeouts and no walks. This will be his first start, so it's hard to know what to expect from the 22-year-old. Murphy was good in the minors, including high-level strikeout work, so there's hope he can find early success, especially as a first-round pick in 2022. There's some upside here if you feel like taking a risk.
Murphy is a low-to-mid-level streamer. He should maybe be a notch lower even because of his non-existent track record, but Murphy has upside given his pedigree and strong K work in the minors. With the matchup just OK, I'm skeptical in this one, though deep-league owners might be willing to play the upside.
Grayson Rodriguez, Los Angeles Angels vs. Detroit Tigers
Rodriguez didn't appear in the majors in 2025, dealing with several injuries, most recently elbow surgery (not Tommy John) that affected the beginning of this season as well. He has made seven starts for the Angels, and it hasn't been pretty: 31 innings, 39 hits, 28 runs, and five home runs with a worse-than-average walk rate and a strikeout rate far below average. In his career before 2026, Rodriguez was better than average with walks and well above average with strikeouts, so there's hope that he can regain form, but it has been a struggle as he works his way into shape.
The Tigers fit the bill as one of our streaming targets, ranking in the bottom 10 in most areas and sitting on the fringe of the top 10 in most batter strikeouts. They have hit for some power, but Detroit hasn't done much else well consistently this season. Things have been better over the past month, but that still only finds the Tigers as an average team in that stretch, still an OK target when we are in need. Detroit climbed back into the playoff race by winning nine of 10 in a stretch before the All-Star break, but we will keep looking at them on the right days until they show a sustained better performance.
Rodriguez is a low-level streamer. It has been a rough go for him in 2026, and with the Tigers looking better recently, this probably isn't the time to use any of your precious fantasy innings.
Ian Seymour, Tampa Bay Rays @ Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox are another team that has looked much better over the past month, climbing to clear above-average status in that stretch. Their season-long numbers are still bottom-10 in many areas, but if Boston keeps up this level of play, we won't be looking to target them much longer. (We're a little short on great options today, so it's still worth looking at them.) The Sox have also climbed back into the playoff picture, winning nine straight and 14 of 16 heading into the break. They also took down the Rays 10-0 in the opener of a doubleheader yesterday before winning the second game 5-3, so they have stayed hot out of the break.
Seymour is owned in around 50% of fantasy leagues, leaving him as a fringe streamer. He was pitching out of the bullpen until late June, and his starts have been mostly good, though he is coming off his worst outing (six hits and five runs allowed in 3 1/3 innings on July 12 against Seattle). His season-long numbers look good, but it's harder to start than pitch out of the bullpen, leaving a little risk here.
Seymour is a mid-level streamer. The matchup is questionable, but Seymour has done high-level strikeout work, leaving him with a decent ceiling. Again, that number will probably come down a little with more starts rather than relief appearances, but Seymour has been good enough to consider in this spot.
