Top prospect Tommy White set for highly anticipated debut with the Athletics
The Athletics are reportedly calling up their top third base prospect, Tommy White, for his major league debut this Friday. This move comes at a vital time for a fourth-place Athletics squad that is currently struggling through a nine-game losing streak and holds a 41-55 record. With key infielders Zack Gelof and Nick Kurtz currently sidelined on the injured list, White is expected to step immediately into a primary role at the hot corner.
While White has no major league track record yet, his Triple-A performance this season has been outstanding, featuring an elite .303 batting average with 10 home runs and 64 RBIs. His ability to drive the ball was on full display throughout the early summer, suggesting his power could translate quickly to the big leagues. As a high-pedigree 23-year-old, he offers significantly more offensive upside than the current depth options in the Oakland infield and should be viewed as a high-priority addition.
White is scheduled to make his debut on Friday at home against the Washington Nationals for a three-game weekend series. While specific pitching matchups are not yet finalized, the primary value here is the guaranteed volume of playing time he will receive given the team's current injury situation. Fantasy managers in need of corner infield help should look to catch the potential prospect spark and plug him into lineups immediately. Start.
