Top-10 Prospects
Pittsburgh's Konnor Griffin is the top prospect in baseball. The 19-year-old shortstop and outfielder has a 2026 ETA, so hopefully things go according to plan and we see him this upcoming season.
He was drafted ninth overall in 2024 and absolutely starred across three minor league levels. Griffin had a .333 average and .415 on-base percentage across 122 games played. Across his 161 hits, Griffin had 21 homers, 23 doubles and four triples, along with 94 RBIs, 117 runs scored, 65 stolen bases, 50 walks and 122 strikeouts.
There's a lot to like in those numbers, so I'm excited to see what he can do in 2026. He'll have a chance to make the big league team out of spring training, and I'd be shocked if he's not in the big leagues at some point otherwise.
Detroit's Kevin McGonigle is the No. 2 prospect. The 21-year old shortstop has a 2026 ETA as well.
McGonigle was the 37th pick in 2023. In three seasons and 183 minor league games, he has a .308 average and .410 OBP. Across 208 hits, McGonigle has 51 doubles, 25 homers and six triples, plus 135 runs scored, 130 RBIs, 40 stolen bases, 123 walks and only 84 strikeouts.
He too will have a chance to make the big league team right out of spring training, but he should be called up at some point in 2026 otherwise. The fact that he doesn't strike out a lot is massive, and it could help him become a huge fantasy asset.
Milwaukee's Jesus Made is the No. 3 prospect in baseball. He's only 18 years old and has already appeared in Double-A.
The middle infielder was signed by Milwaukee in 2024, and is expected to debut in 2027. If he keeps producing like he has over the past two seasons, I don't think a 2026 call up is out of the question.
Over 166 minor league games, Made has a .298 average and .402 OBP. He has 187 total hits, including 37 doubles and 12 triples and home runs. Made has 89 RBIs, 144 runs scored, 75 stolen bases, 106 walks and 136 strikeouts. It's only a matter of time before the youngster is in the big leagues, and if he delivers as expected, he could be an elite fantasy hitter.
Athletics' Leodalis De Vries is the No. 4 prospect. He's another shortstop and is just 19 years old. De Vries has made it to Double-A and is expected to debut in 2026. Being with the Athletics could help the shortstop reach the big leagues here shortly.
St. Louis' J.J. Wetherholt is an infielder with a 2026 ETA. He's 23 years old and is expected to play a big role for the Cardinals this coming season. St. Louis might not be set up for a ton of success, but it opened the door for Wetherholt to contribute right away, so we'll need to keep tabs on him, as he could be a legit fantasy asset to all right away.
New York Mets' Nolan McLean is the No. 6 prospect. He's already made his MLB debut and will be in the top half of the Mets' starting rotation to kick off the season. He was great across 48 MLB innings last season, so we'll see what he can do over a full MLB season.
Texas' Sebastian Walcott is the No. 7 prospect. The 19-year-old shortstop or third baseman has a 2026 ETA and has topped out at Double-A.
Baltimore's Samuel Basallo is another prospect who has already made his MLB debut. The No. 8 overall prospect plays first base or catcher and struggled in his 31 MLB games.
Seattle's Colt Emerson is the No. 9 prospect. He is another shortstop and has a 2026 ETA. Emerson has already made it to Triple-A, so it's just a matter of time before the 20-year-old in the big leagues.
Detroit's Max Clark rounds out the top 10. The 21-year-old outfielder has a 2026 ETA and has topped out at Double-A.
Most Top-100 Prospects
Seattle leads the way with seven top-100 prospects.
Emerson is the top Seattle prospect at No. 9. Kade Anderson is ranked 21st, while Ryan Sloan is 33rd. Lazaro Montes (No. 43) is another top-50 option. Michael Arroyo (No. 67), Jonny Farmelo (No. 78) and switch-pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje (No. 91) are the other Mariners in the top 100.
The Guardians are second on the list with six top-100 prospects. Travis Bazzana (No. 20), last year's No. 1 pick, leads the way. Chase DeLauter (No. 46), Angel Genao (No. 66), Ralphy Velazquez (No. 89), Parker Messick (No. 95) and Cooper Ingle (No. 99) are the other top-100 prospects from Cleveland.
The Brewers, Cardinals, Dodgers, Marlins, Pirates and White Sox have five prospects in the top 100.
Made leads the way for the Brew Crew at No. 3. Luis Pena is ranked 26th, while newly-acquired Jett Williams is No. 51. Cooper Pratt (No. 64) and Brandon Sproat (No. 100) also made the list - Sproat was part of the same trade that brought Williams to Milwaukee.
Wetherholt leads the Cardinals at No. 5. Liam Doyle ranks 34th, while Rainiel Rodriguez checks in at No. 37. Joshua Baez and Leonardo Bernal also made the top 100, sitting at Nos. 87 and 98, respectively.
Josue De Paula is the top Dodgers' prospect at No. 15. Zyhir Hope (No. 27) and Eduardo Quintero (No. 30) are also in the top 30. Mike Sirota (No. 60) and Emil Morales (No. 92) are also in the top 100.
Thomas White is the top Marlins' prospect at No. 17. Robby Snelling sits at No. 39, while Owen Caissie is 42nd and Aiva Arquette is No. 47. Joe Mack is ranked 62nd.
Griffin leads the charge for the Pirates. Bubba Chandler is No. 11, with Seth Hernandez checking in 29th. Edward Florentino (No. 50) and Hunter Barco (No. 96) are the other top-100 prospects for Pittsburgh.
Braden Montgomery is the top White Sox' prospect, sitting 36th. Noah Schultz is 49th, while Caleb Bonemer is 61st. Hagen Smith and Billy Carlson are at Nos. 72 and 73, respectively.
Positional Breakdown and More
There are a whopping 28 shortstops on the top-100 list. That's a record for the preseason top-100 list.
Sixty-eight of the spots belong to hitters, leaving just 32 pitchers on the list. That might not seem like many pitchers, but it's the most since 39 pitchers appeared on the 2021 top-100 list.
Outfielders are next after shortstops, with 21 prospects being outfield options. There are 18 right-handed pitchers on the list, then 14-left-handed hurlers. There's 12 catchers in the top 100.
Only four first baseman graced the new list, and only two second basemen made the cut. No third baseman were included, making it the first position to be shut out since the top-50 list was turned to the top-100 list in 2012.
Of the top 100, 77 players were drafted, with 53 of those being former first-round picks in some fashion. That leaves 23 players who were signed as international free agents.
We'll be breaking down prospects more in the weeks to come, so be sure to check back to FantasySP for those articles.
