Robby Snelling Sidelined for the Season Following Tommy John Surgery

The fourth-place Marlins are currently riding a four-game win streak, but they will have to proceed without their prized rookie southpaw. Snelling has been placed on the 60-day injured list and underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery to repair his left elbow. Before the devastating injury news, the 22-year-old made just one major league start after absolutely dominating Triple-A with a stellar 1.86 ERA.

Our models previously projected Snelling for over 100 innings of highly competitive work, but his 2026 redraft value has completely evaporated. In dynasty formats, managers must preach patience, as his elite minor league track record and premium prospect pedigree suggest he remains a valuable long-term asset once healthy. For single-season redraft formats, he can be safely cut to free up an active roster spot.

While Miami matches up against Arizona and Pittsburgh this week, Snelling is completely off the fantasy radar for the foreseeable future. He will spend the remainder of the year and most of next season rehabbing, leaving fantasy managers to find pitching help elsewhere on the waiver wire. Verdict: Drop.
