Mike Sirota continues historic minor league on-base streak but remains a stash for now
Mike Sirota has become a historical anomaly in the minor leagues, extending his on-base streak to 72 consecutive games for Double-A Tulsa. The 23-year-old outfielder is demonstrating elite plate discipline with a walk rate over 20% and a line-drive rate above 32%, drawing comparisons to all-time legends like Ted Williams. While the big-league Dodgers remain in first place in the NL West with a 61-36 record, Sirota is not currently on the active major league roster, meaning his historic production is restricted to the farm system for now.
Under the hood, Sirota’s performance appears to be a sustainable breakout rather than a small-sample fluke. Since overcoming a slow 1-for-17 start in April, he has surged to hit 14 home runs this season while maintaining an OPS well over 1.000 during his climb through the system. Our models suggest his combination of elite on-base skills and burgeoning power would translate well to the majors, but with the Dodgers' outfield currently full, there is no immediate path to playing time. He is a high-priority stash in dynasty leagues but lacks redraft value until a call-up is imminent.
The Dodgers head to the Bronx for a three-game weekend series against the Yankees starting Friday. Because Sirota remains at the Double-A level and is not currently projected to join the active roster for this road trip, he cannot be used in any active fantasy lineups this week. Owners should monitor the team injury report closely, as any opening in the outfield could lead to a quick promotion for the game's No. 11 overall prospect. He remains a high-upside hold in deep formats but is not a starting option. Sit.
