Zyhir Hope dominates Double-A with elite power surge while awaiting big league opportunity
Hope has been an absolute force at Double-A Tulsa, recently becoming the first player at that level to reach 70 RBIs while mashing 17 home runs. While he is currently a non-roster prospect, his production is impossible to ignore for a first-place Dodgers squad that sits at 61-36. The major league club is currently navigating several injuries to the position player group, including Enrique Hernandez and Will Smith, though the outfield depth chart remains headlined by Andy Pages and Teoscar Hernandez.
Under the hood, this July surge is no fluke, as Hope recently launched six home runs in a seven-game span and recorded multiple four-hit games. Because he has no major league career stats or our season projections to reference yet, his value is tied entirely to his status as a top-20 prospect with elite 114 mph exit velocity. While a jump to the majors often requires an adjustment period, his ability to drive in runs at a record pace suggests a high fantasy ceiling once he receives the call.
The Dodgers have a three-game road trip against the Yankees beginning July 17, but Hope will remain with the Drillers for the time being. Since he is not on the active 26-man roster, he will not be available for the upcoming matchups in New York. He is a priority addition in dynasty formats and a high-end stash for managers in deep redraft leagues anticipating a late-summer debut, but for this scoring period, he cannot be utilized. Sit.
