Friday's Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitching Targets: Jacob Misiorowski, Cade Horton and More

Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.

We just looked at some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitting options, and now are going to jump right into some pitchers to possibly target.

Here are the pitcher waiver wire stories from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.

Should You Add Jacob Misiorowski?

I usually won't cover any waiver wire options two times in a week, but I'm making an exception here. Misiorowski is up to 66.39% rostered after making his MLB debut on Thursday against the Cardinals.

Oh what a debut it was for Misiorowski. He earned a win after working five no-hit innings. Misiorowski walked four batters, but struck out five along the way.

He left with cramping in his right calf and quad, which put a damper on things a bit, but it's not a serious issue to worry about going forward. Misiorowski should make his next scheduled start, and remain in the rotation for an extended stretch, at least.

A lot has happened since we last discussed Misiorowski a couple days ago (call-up story and waiver article). Milwaukee has said they are bringing Misiorowski up and that he would remain in the rotation. That bumped Aaron Civale from the rotation to the bullpen, and the veteran requested a trade after that move.

Misiorowski could face the Cubs next, which would be a great challenge for the rookie flamethrower. He could face the Pirates after that, which is a much more favorable test.

As you can see by his quickly rising own percentage, Misiorowski is catching the eye of a ton of fantasy owners. If his next start wasn't so tough, I bet his own percentage would be skyrocketing right now.

I like the idea of starting Misiorowski in deeper leagues for that start against the Cubs. It's a tough one, but how do you not start him in a deeper league after he tossed a no-hitter in his debut?

I also wouldn't be opposed to unleashing the rookie pitcher in standard leagues for that Chicago start. He's not going to start in all of those leagues because of the matchup, but he's got the stuff to shut down a top-tier lineup, so utilizing him in standard leagues isn't super crazy.

A good start against the Cubs might get Misiorowski's own percentage to nearly 100. Keep a very close eye on him if you don't have the room to add him yet, and he remains unowned in your league.

Should You Add Cade Horton?

Horton is a streaming option on Friday. He will face the Pirates, who are one of the most favorable matchups for a fantasy pitcher.

Horton has been added in 5.58% of leagues as a result, and is now rostered in 43.25% of leagues overall.

He has made five starts across his six big league appearances this season. Horton is 3-1 and the Cubs are 5-1 in his starts.

He's logged 30 2/3 innings, allowing 16 runs (14 earned) on 33 hits and seven walks. Along with his 4.11 earned run average, Horton has 25 strikeouts.

Horton hasn't faced the Pirates yet this season, but the favorable matchup is really enticing to fantasy owners. Horton has fared pretty well in the early going of his MLB career, and he's looked his best in the most favorable tests.

I think Horton is a great deep-league streaming option on Friday, along with being a pretty solid standard league streamer. He's not a must-start pitcher in all leagues because of his ERA and so-so strikeout work, but the matchup is pristine and could help him to a big fantasy total tonight.

Should You Add Bryce Elder?

Elder is another streaming option for Friday. He will take on the Rockies, with the game being played in Atlanta.

Elder is coming off his best start of the season. He worked eight innings against the Giants on June 7, allowing a run on three hits and no walks. He struck out 12 batters in that contest.

The Rockies are a great matchup for fantasy pitchers, especially when they aren't playing in Colorado. Elder faced the Rockies back on April 28, earning a win after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings - he struck out four batters.

That's maybe not the best final line in a super favorable matchup, but that game was also in Colorado. Coming off a great start his last time out, and with this game in Atlanta, I see Elder turning in a big performance on Friday.

Elder is up 3.64% and sits at 42.7% overall. He's a good deep-league streaming option today, and might be the best one. Elder should get plenty of standard league streaming starts as well, although I wouldn't call him a must-start pitcher either.

A start against the Mets looms after this one, so take advantage of Elder and this favorable test against the Rockies.

Should You Add Mitchell Parker?

Parker is another streaming option on Friday. He's taking on the Marlins.

Parker is rostered in just 18% of leagues right now.

Parker has made 13 starts this season, with the Nationals going 7-6 in those contests. He is 4-6 with a 4.44 ERA over 71 innings. Parker has allowed 38 runs (35 earned) on 61 hits and 28 walks, while striking out 47 batters.

He's allowed over three earned runs in six of his outings. Parker is coming off one of his better starts, covering six innings against the Rangers on June 7. He allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks, while striking out five.

Parker faced the Marlins back on April 11. He took a no decision after working six innings and allowing four runs (three earned). Parker surrendered five hits and two walks, while striking out three.

So while Parker's matchup is favorable today, he's not a great streaming option after looking at his season totals and last start against Miami. He could post a decent fantasy total, but also could be below average.

I'd only want to stream Parker in deeper fantasy setups. I'd avoid him in standard leagues. If he looks good today, he should be starting in more leagues for his next start, which likely will be against the Rockies (again, that game isn't in Colorado).

Should You Add Adrian Houser?

Houser is rostered in 37% of leagues going into a start on Friday. He will take on the Rangers.

Houser has been fantastic over his first four MLB starts this season. The White Sox are 2-2 in those games, but Houser is 2-1 with a 1.93 ERA over 24 1/3 innings.

Houser has allowed just four runs on 19 hits and six walks, while striking out 20 batters. Three of the runs allowed came against the Orioles in one start, and he allowed the other run against the Royals in his last start. Houser shut out the Mariners and Mets in his first two appearances this season.

The veteran righty is building up some serious trade value with how he's pitched so far this season. The Rangers are a pretty favorable matchup on paper, meaning Houser is set up for more success tonight.

I'm surprised he isn't rostered in more leagues after looking at his season numbers so far. Houser is going to regress at some point, but in a favorable matchup tonight, I like Houser's chances of delivering a good mark again.

I'd be fine starting Houser in any league type tonight. He's close to being a must-start pitcher in deeper leagues in my book, and I think he's one of the better options overall today. I trust the veteran to post at least an average fantasy mark, and his fantasy ceiling is probably right up there amongst the best tonight.

Don't overlook Houser because he's pitching for a bad team.
