Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.
After checking in on some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitters to possibly add, let's now go over some fantasy pitchers.

Should You Add Luis L. Ortiz?
Ortiz has been added in 10.28% of fantasy leagues so far today. He's up to 34.93% overall.
He is a streaming option for Monday. Ortiz will face the Reds, who are one of the better fantasy matchups available to a pitcher this season.
Ortiz has made 12 starts so far this season, with Cleveland going 5-7 in those contests. Ortiz is 3-6 with a 3.81 earned run average over 65 innings. He's allowed 30 runs (29 earned) on 58 hits and 33 walks, while also striking out 71 batters.
His win-loss record might not be good, but most of those other numbers are. Ortiz has also been really good of late, sporting a 2.28 ERA over 27 2/3 innings across his past five starts. He's 1-3 in that span, which doesn't indicate how well he's pitched, and that's kept his own percentage down too.
Despite being in a different league, Ortiz has already faced the Reds once this season, and it came in that five-game stretch I just discussed. He took a loss after allowing two runs on six hits and two walks across five innings, but he also struck out seven batters.
Ortiz has pitched well of late and has a favorable matchup today, so he's a good streaming option in my eyes. I'd be happy to give him a streaming start in most deeper redraft leagues, but also wouldn't call him a must-start player in those leagues.
Ortiz could also be streamed in standard leagues today. It's a pretty light day for MLB action, so that makes him one of the better streaming options out there.
Should You Add Brandon Walter?
Walter is up 6.26% today, bringing his overall mark to 19.15%.
He pitched on Sunday against the Guardians, and turned in a strong start. Walter covered six innings, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks, while punching out five.
It was his second MLB start of the season. The 28-year-old worked five scoreless frames against the Rays back on May 20. Walter allowed three hits and a walk in that one, while striking out five again.
The Astros are expected to use a six-man rotation over the next couple weeks, which means Walter should get another start soon. He's lined up to face the Twins, which is a good enough matchup to try and stream him in again.
Walter has delivered good results in his limited MLB action so far, and that's a big reason why he's on the rise as a fantasy asset. As soon as his next MLB start is confirmed, I'd expect his own percentage to keep rising.
At this point, I'm willing to call Walter a good deep-league streaming option against the Twins. Depending on who else is pitching that day will determine if Walter is also a standard league option for that start.
Should You Add Mike Burrows?
Burrows is owned in 7.61% of leagues, but is up 5.93% today.
He will start against the Marlins on Monday, so he's another streaming option. The favorable matchup gave Burrows a nice fantasy ownership boost.
Burrows has made three starts for the Pirates in 2025. The team is 2-1 in those games, and he has a 1-1 record. Burrows has a 5.27 ERA over 13 2/3 innings though. He's allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 14 hits and four walks, while striking out 11 batters.
In his first start against the Brewers, Burrows allowed four runs on four hits and two walks over five innings, while striking out three. He allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks, while striking out two against the Diamondbacks in his next start.
His last start was his best one. He earned a win after working 5 1/3 scoreless innings against the Astros. Burrows allowed five hits and didn't walk anyone, and he also struck out six.
The Marlins are his best matchup yet, and coming off a strong start, it's easy to see why Burrows is a big riser today. With just one good start in three tries though, I'd only want to stream Burrows in some really deep fantasy leagues today.
There has to be some better options available - don't get caught up in the super favorable matchup, because Burrows has a pretty low fantasy ceiling.
Should You Add Jeffrey Springs?
Springs is up 3.55% and sits at 34.08% overall now. He will start for the Athletics against the Angels on Monday.
Springs has started 13 times this season, with the team going 5-8 in those outings. He's 5-4, but with a 4.66 ERA over 67 2/3 innings. Springs has allowed 43 runs (35 earned) on 60 hits and 31 walks, and has also struck out 56 batters.
Springs has had a rough go of things of late, allowing 14 runs (12 earned) over just 14 2/3 innings in three starts. In the four starts before that, Springs allowed four runs over 24 2/3 innings.
His results have been inconsistent so far, and that's why his own percentage isn't any higher. Springs has a career 3.61 ERA over eight MLB seasons, so I expect him to improve his marks as the season moves along.
The favorable start against the Angels could be a stepping stone toward better results. Springs has not faced LA yet this season, but the matchup is right for him to deliver good fantasy results.
Given some of Springs' inconsistencies, I'm not calling him a must-start pitcher tonight. However, I would say he's a streaming option in all fantasy leagues.
Springs isn't your typical streamer, and the veteran is more trustworthy than a lot of younger, less experienced streaming options. Can you trust him in a favorable matchup despite some struggles of late? I say yes.
Should You Add Clayton Kershaw?
We'll end with another veteran in Kershaw, who is up 4.72% and is now rostered in 43.1% of leagues overall.
He made his fifth MLB start of the season on Sunday, and had his best fantasy showing. Kershaw got a win after tossing five innings against the Cardinals. He allowed a run on six hits and no walks, while punching out seven batters.
Kershaw is 1-0, but with a 4.35 ERA over 20 2/3 innings now. The team is 3-2 in his starts. Kershaw has allowed 12 runs (10 earned) on 23 hits and nine walks, while striking out 15 batters.
Kershaw is well past his prime now, but he's still capable of turning in good fantasy results when he's making regular starts for a stacked team. He hasn't topped five innings in any start, but that could change as the season moves along and he settles in a bit more.
I'm a bit surprised to see his own percentage as high as it is looking at his season results so far. Kershaw's big name and storied career is definitely playing a role in that though.
Kershaw is a fine deep-league option right now, but he's not a must-start pitcher in those leagues because of his limited fantasy ceiling right now.
His upcoming starts against the Giants and Padres are not the best either, so I'm skeptical of adding Kershaw and holding him in deeper leagues. I'd much rather stream him for those couple of starts.
If more positive fantasy results are posted, that's when I'd heavily consider keeping Kershaw in deeper leagues. At that point, he'd be a standard league streaming option too.
