Wednesday's Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Pitching Targets: Jacob Misiorowski and Bailey Falter Among the Top Adds
Looking at a few waiver wire pitchers to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.
Let's dive into our third fantasy baseball waiver wire stories of the week.
We'll cover pitchers first today, but not include anyone who appeared in stories on Monday or Tuesday, or who showed up in the Wednesday streaming article. Check back later for a waiver wire story on hitters.
Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.
Should You Add Jacob Misiorowski?
We covered Misiorowski in depth on Tuesday, but we'll mention him again here as he's the top waiver wire add on Wednesday. He's been added in 17.06% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 44.48%.
Misiorowski is reportedly being called up by the Brewers on Thursday. He will make his MLB debut against the Cardinals that day.
He's the No. 68 prospect in baseball, with an 80-grade fastball sticking out for the 6-foot-7 righty. Misiorowski also has a 70-grade curveball and 60-grade slider. He's a 55 overall, with 40-grade control being his only downside.
He has a career 3.04 earned run average over four minor league seasons and 233 2/3 innings. Misiorowski has a 4-2 record and 2.13 ERA over 63 1/3 Triple-A innings this season. He has 80 strikeouts and 31 walks, while allowing just a .175 average against him.
A lot of those grades and stats should appeal to fantasy owners. He has a high ceiling with big strikeout numbers, but there's also a concern if he loses his command.
The matchup against the Cardinals is favorable enough to consider starting the young righty in all leagues as a streaming option. Depending on how Misiorowski fares in that contest will determine if he sticks in the rotation or goes right back to AAA.
I'm willing to add and stream Misiorowski in all redraft leagues on Thursday. He's close to being a must-start pitcher in deeper leagues, and at the very least, I'd add and stash the Brewers' prospect in those leagues.
A big start on Thursday might get him added in close to all fantasy leagues immediately, so keep a very close eye on him and his MLB debut.
Should You Add Bailey Falter?
Falter is up 2.77% so far and is now rostered in 30.19% of leagues.
He is a streaming option on Wednesday and will make a start against the Marlins today. That's a favorable matchup on paper for a pitcher who has done pretty well so far in 2025.
Falter has made 13 starts for the Pirates, and the team is 7-6 in those games. He's 4-3 with a 3.49 ERA over 69 2/3 innings. Falter has allowed 32 runs (27 earned) on 54 hits and 24 walks, while striking out 43 batters.
He allowed four runs against the Phillies in his last outing. Falter hadn't allowed over three runs in his six starts before that. He had a 0.76 ERA in that span.
Falter already faced the Marlins this season, making his first start against them on March 29. He took a no decision after allowing two runs on seven hits over six innings. Falter struck out four and walked no batters.
Falter has been a sneaky-good fantasy asset in 2025, and the matchup is right for him to bounce back from a poor start. I think Falter is a really good streaming option on Wednesday.
He's pretty close to being a must-start pitcher in deeper redraft leagues for me, and I'd even consider streaming him in standard leagues. Falter isn't a big game, but he's pitched well overall this season, already shut down the team he's facing and has a great matchup.
Stream Falter if you are looking for a pitcher with a high ceiling today. His floor also seems pretty safe.
Should You Add Chad Patrick?
Patrick is up 2.42% and sits at 46.74% overall.
He's another streaming option on Wednesday. Patrick will face the Braves, who are stacked with talent, but also have been a pretty solid matchup for fantasy pitchers this season.
Patrick has started in 13 of his 14 appearances so far in 2025. The Brewers are 6-8 in his starts, and Patrick is 3-5, but he's got a strong 2.84 ERA.
Failing to reach five innings has held him back from winning more games. Patrick has allowed 22 runs on 63 hits and 21 walks over 69 2/3 innings. He has 63 strikeouts this season.
Patrick has gone six innings in back-to-back starts, and those appearances were against the Phillies and Padres, who are both tougher matchups than Atlanta.
With how Patrick has pitched overall and of late, I'd have no issues starting Patrick in any league type today. He's close to being a must-start pitcher in deeper leagues, and I think he has a solid floor and fairly high ceiling.
With Misiorowski coming up, the Brewers will either need to go with a six-man rotation or move a starter to the bullpen. I think Patrick has pitched too well to remove from the rotation, but that's something to keep an eye on at least.
Should You Add Jack Leiter?
Leiter sits at 57.62% overall after a 2.22% increase so far.
He will start on Wednesday against the Twins. That's a pretty similar matchup to facing the Braves.
Leiter has made 10 starts this season, and the Rangers are 4-6 in those contests. He is 4-2 with a 3.48 ERA over 51 2/3 innings though, so his offense has let him down. Leiter has allowed 20 runs on 36 hits and 24 walks, while also striking out 42 batters.
Over his past five starts, Leiter is 2-0 with a 2.20 ERA over 28 2/3 innings. He has 24 strikeouts over that stretch.
Leiter has not faced the Twins yet this season, so he's being streamed because of his good results on the mound.
He's another guy who I think could be streamed in all leagues today. Leiter is owned in all deeper leagues, and could definitely start in those leagues. Depending on who else is available and who you trust in their matchup the most, Leiter could also be worth streaming in standard leagues.
He could face the Royals after this, which is a similar matchup to facing the Twins. Leiter could be deployed in a similar fashion for that contest.
Should You Add Jose Soriano?
Soriano is up to 27.98% owned after a 2.5% increase today.
He started on Tuesday against the Athletics. Soriano allowed a run on two hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out 12 batters and left with a no decision after the game went to extra innings.
Soriano lowered his season ERA to 3.86, and he's now pitched 79 1/3 innings. He's 4-5 and has 64 strikeouts so far. Soriano has allowed 37 runs (34 earned) on 80 hits and 39 walks. The Angels are 5-9 in games he starts.
Tuesday's outing was maybe his best of the season and should get the attention of fantasy owners. However, a probable start against the Yankees looms for Soriano next, and that's not a matchup you want to stream him in. I'd only consider starting Soriano in deeper redraft leagues for that one, and I'd do my best to avoid him.
Things lighten up after that with a start against the Astros maybe. That's the contest I'd be willing to stream Soriano in, and depending who else is pitching that day, and how he looks against the Yankees, Soriano could be streamed in all leagues potentially.
