Friday is here, which means it's time for our fifth round of fantasy baseball waiver wire stories for the week.

Here are the hitter writeups from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Check back soon for a waiver wire story on pitchers.

Check out the top fantasy baseball waiver wire options everyday on FantasySP.

Should You Add Christian Moore?

Moore is the top waiver wire pickup on Friday after news broke that he was being promoted to the big leagues on Thursday. He's up 7.35% and sits at 11.78% overall now.

Moore is the No. 56 prospect in baseball and was drafted eighth overall by the Angels in 2024. He's 22 years old, bats and throws from the right side, stands 6-feet tall and weighs 210 pounds.

He's got a 55 overall grade, with a 60 grade for his power. He's a 55 for hitting and then has average 50 marks for his running, fielding and arm.

Moore has appeared in 79 minor league games since being drafted. He has a .302 average and .374 on-base percentage. Among Moore's 92 hits, 11 are homers, 14 are doubles and two are triples. He also has 52 RBIs, 10 stolen bases, 54 runs scored, 40 walks and 94 strikeouts.

He started the season at Double-A, hitting .234 and getting on base at a .342 clip there. Moore hit .350 and got on base at a .424 clip across 20 Triple-A games and now will be called up to make his MLB debut. Four of his five homers have come at AAA.

Moore has either played second base or been a designated hitter in his short minor league career. The Angels have a tendency to push prospects to the big leagues in a hurry, and they've liked what they've seen with Moore and are going to give him a taste of the show now.

Luis Rengifo has appeared the most times at second base for LA - he's really struggled at the plate this season. Rengifo could also play third base, where he again has the most appearances (just three ahead of Yoan Moncada).

Over the past five Angels' games, Rengifo has made two starts at second base, with Scott Kingery getting the other three starts. Rengifo has two starts at third base over that span, with Kevin Newman getting the other three nods.

Whatever the case might be for Rengigo, Kingery and Newman, the Angels are calling up a top prospect to play, not sit the bench. Moore is going to start just about every game for the Angels as long as he sticks in the big leagues.

Being a highly-regarded prospect, Moore is worth adding in a bunch of deeper redraft leagues right now. He's hit well in the minor leagues and could take off right away in his MLB debut. I'd at least want to stash Moore on my bench in deeper leagues.

Standard league owners also have to keep a close eye on Moore. A couple big games could get him into standard leagues, and you don't want to miss out on a potential fantasy difference maker.

Should You Add Austin Wells?

Wells was added in 4.3% of leagues, bringing his total mark up to 73%.

Wells has performed well over his past 11 appearances, collecting 12 hits over 42 plate appearances. He has three doubles and homers among those hits in that stretch.

The catcher now has a .228 average and .293 OBP across 57 games and 215 plate appearances for the season. Wells has 12 doubles, a triple and 11 home runs among his 43 total hits, while also posting 42 RBIs, three stolen bases, 26 runs scored, 16 walks and 52 strikeouts.

He's started three of the team's past five games, batting seventh once and ninth twice. Not playing every game and hitting near the bottom of the order holds Wells back as a fantasy asset.

Wells is still a catcher to roster in deeper leagues, and he's at least a top depth option in those leagues. Wells is still a good depth option in standard leagues if your other fantasy catcher doesn't play every day.

I don't think Wells should ever be rostered in all standard leagues, but he's worth watching in case he gets on a long hot streak.

Should You Add Jonathan India?

India is up 2.46% and is now rostered in 56.75% of leagues overall.

He's on a four-game hitting streak, collecting seven knocks over that span. India has 20 hits over his past 15 games and 66 plate appearances.

India has played in 62 games this season, getting 271 plate appearances so far. He has 12 doubles and three home runs among his 60 total hits, along with 18 RBIs, 27 runs scored, 28 walks and 38 strikeouts.

India's season has been underwhelming so far, but he seems to be trending in the right direction now. He's near his career marks now, but is still due for some improvement in the RBI and run scored departments.

The 28-year-old has played second and third base and left field so far this season, and could be eligible at each spot in fantasy leagues. That makes India more valuable and worth rostering in a few more setups.

I like rostering India in deeper leagues, and think he should stick in those leagues most of the season. He's a good depth option at the very least, and can start when he's in a groove at the plate, like he is now.

India also has standard league streaming value in his hot streaks. He's not a must-add waiver bat, but if you have a need for a versatile defender for a short period of time, adding and utilizing India makes plenty of sense.

Should You Add Zach McKinstry?

McKinstry has been added in 1.96% of leagues and is now rostered in 47.11% of leagues overall.

McKinstry has had a solid month, collecting 12 hits over 11 games. Four of the hits have been triples. McKinstry doesn't have an RBI this month, but three stolen bases, six runs scored and three walks help his fantasy output.

He's played in 63 games and has gotten 240 plate appearances so far. McKinstry has a .279 average and .364 OBP, along with 58 total hits, 19 RBIs, six stolen bases, 34 runs scored, 28 walks and 55 strikeouts. Among his hits, he's got 10 doubles, seven triples and three home runs.

McKinstry is an even more versatile defender, having played at second and third base, shortstop and left and right field this season. Check to see how many positions McKinstry is eligible at in your league.

That position versatility makes McKinstry a good option in deeper leagues, and that remains true throughout the season as long as he's hitting a bit. He was a standard league asset with how well he was hitting early in the season, so he's worth keeping an eye on in those leagues too.

Should You Add Byron Buxton?

Buxton is rostered in 87.88% of leagues after a 1.73% increase today.

Buxton went hitless on Thursday, but had six hits in the two games before that. A four-game hitless streak preceded that, and he had four straight two-hit performances before that. In other words, he's a streaky hitter.

He's played in 52 games and logged 224 plate appearances this season. Buxton has a .276 average and .339 OBP, to go along with 41 RBIs, 11 stolen bases, 39 runs scored, 19 walks and 64 strikeouts. Among his 55 hits, Buxton has 11 homers, three triples and eight doubles.

Most of those numbers are pretty strong, but the big strikeout total holds him back a bit as a fantasy asset. His streaky production and past injury woes hold him back too.

Buxton is a really good deep-league asset, and a pretty strong standard league asset when he's going well at the plate. His hot stretches are hard to predict, so it can be frustrating to roster Buxton. Keeping him in your lineup is the only way to cash in on his strong runs at the plate.

He's a top-25 fantasy outfielder in points leagues so far, and that's even after missing some games. So Buxton is worth a roster and starting spot in most leagues out there. Sure, he might be a bit frustrating with his streaky hitting and big strikeout totals, but over time, Buxton should be a positive for all fantasy teams.
