Gavin Lux Among Fantasy Baseball Hitters Trending Up Over Past Two Weeks

Looking at several fantasy hitters who have delivered big numbers over the past 15 days.

Our fantasy baseball coverage focuses a lot on waiver wire options and streamers, because that's how most of the roster moves are made throughout the season.

Today, I wanted to look at some hitters (whether they are barely owned or rostered in every league) trending up or down over the past 15 days. We'll look at hitters only today, then look at pitchers later in the week. We'll begin with hitters trending up.

Explore the best in-season tool to manage lineup/start decisions including waiver pickups, projections, trade suggestions, trade value charts, rest of season rankings, power rankings, and tons more with Fantasy Assistant.

Most Hits

New York Yankees' Aaron Judge has a whopping 25 hits over his past 14 games. He's got three doubles, a triple and two homers in that span, along with eight RBIs, seven walks, a stolen base, eight runs scored and 13 strikeouts.

He's scored the second-most fantasy points (using ESPN settings) on the season, and is the top player on our Trade Value Chart. There's no single player I'd trade Judge outright for - I'd normally say Shohei Ohtani is worth it, but that's only if he's pitching, and he hasn't pitched this season.

You drafted Judge early in your fantasy drafts, so enjoy his production instead of trying to capitalize on his really hot stretches at the plate.

New York Mets' Francisco Lindor and Cincinnati's Gavin Lux are tied at 21 hits over the past 15 days.

Lindor has reached his 21 hits over 14 games and 58 at-bats. He has four homers and a double among his hits, along with eight RBIs, three walks, 11 runs scored and nine strikeouts.

Lindor was a second-round fantasy draft pick in most leagues, and his fantasy trade value is pretty similar right now. He's another player you should just enjoy the production of, not try to sell high. Lindor is capable of producing at high levels all season, so unless you can land a player significantly higher than him on the trade chart, I'd just keep Lindor around.

Lux is definitely a surprise name on the top list of hits. He was only picked in really deep fantasy leagues, but is currently owned in about 50% of leagues, and it continues to rise.

Lux has four doubles and a homer among his 21 hits, and he's reached those numbers in only 11 games and 40 at-bats. He has nine RBIs, six walks, a stolen base, 11 runs scored and eight strikeouts over those games.

Lux is only starting against right-handed starting pitchers, so that caps his fantasy ceiling a good bit. That's why his own percentage isn't any higher.

Lux is still hitting well enough right now to utilize in all fantasy leagues. He's going to top out as a deep-league option more often than not, so only add him in a standard league if you have a need for one of his eligible positions, or simply have a spot to play with.

Most RBIs

Cincinnati's Noelvi Marte leads the MLB with 16 RBIs over the past 15 days.

He's played in just 10 games and gotten 40 at-bats in that 15-day span. Marte has three homers, a triple and four doubles among his 16 total knocks, along with four walks, three stolen bases, six runs scored and six strikeouts in that span.

Marte has been a trendy waiver wire pickup, and was a headliner in Monday's story. He obviously won't remain this hot all season, but he's worth adding and utilizing in any fantasy league type while he's this hot.

He's up to 65% rostered and deserves to be held in all deeper leagues for the next couple weeks. Marte can be streamed or kept in standard leagues until this hot stretch comes to a close for an extended period.

Arizona's Corbin Carroll, Cincinnati's Austin Hays, Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom and Milwaukee's Christian Yelich have 13 RBIs each over the past 15 days.

Carroll has played in 12 games and gotten 57 at-bats in that span of days. He has four homers, three triples and two doubles among his 16 total hits, along with three walks, four stolen bases, 11 runs scored and 17 strikeouts.

Carroll was a mid-second-round pick in fantasy drafts and has worked his way inside the top 10 with his play so far. He's enjoying a nice bounceback season from a down 2024 season. I think he's here to stay as a top-end fantasy asset again, but if you are skeptical, now could be a good time to sell high on him.

Hays has five homers and three doubles among his 19 hits over the past 13 games and 52 at-bats (those are his only stats of the season after beginning the season on the injured list). Hays also has six walks, a stolen base, 15 runs scored and 13 strikeouts over the past 15 days.

Hays has been red-hot at the plate and was included in Tuesday's waiver story. Hays went undrafted because of a down 2024 season and his injury to start this season, but he's quickly risen to a top-200 player on the trade value chart.

He won't remain this hot all season, but the primary outfielder can be added and utilized in all leagues until he cools off. Hays is owned in nearly 65% of leagues now.

Soderstrom has played in 13 games and gotten 51 at-bats over the past 15 days. He has three doubles and homers among his 14 total knocks in that span, along with four walks, a stolen base, eight runs scored and 14 strikeouts.

Soderstrom has been one of the top fantasy hitters all season, and he hasn't shown many signs of slowing down. His career marks say he's due for some big regression as the season progresses, but you cannot argue with his overall numbers so far, and deserves to be utilized in all fantasy leagues.

He was a deep-league fantasy draft option before the season, and ranks inside the top-100 on the trade chart. That makes Soderstrom a sell-high trade candidate if you don't believe in him in the long run.

Yelich was drafted around pick 110 in most fantasy drafts this season, despite coming off back surgery that cut his 2024 season short. The fantasy owners who took a gamble on him have to be thrilled so far, and he's worked his way inside the top 100 on the trade chart with his play, especially of late.

He's played in 12 games and gotten 45 at-bats over the past 15 days. Yelich has two homers and doubles among his 16 knocks in that span, along with eight walks, three stolen bases, seven runs scored and 11 strikeouts.

He's another sell-high candidate because of his injury woes in the past. Yelich is also capable of being a top-end fantasy hitter if he's healthy all season, so it's a gamble to sell him now too.

Highest OBPs

Lux leads the MLB with a .587 OBP over the past 15 days. Detroit's Zach McKinstry is second with a .524 mark.

The versatile McKinstry has 13 hits, including four doubles and a triple, and nine walks over his past 11 games and 33 at-bats. He has five RBIs, five runs scored, a stolen base and 11 strikeouts in that span.

You can see by his lower at-bat total that he's not as good of a fantasy asset as some of the other hitters we've discussed. He's owned in 63% of fantasy leagues, and is deserving of deep-league roster spots and starts while he's starting and delivering at the plate. McKinstry is capped as a fantasy asset because he's not logging as many at-bats as others, and that holds him back from being a standard league asset, at least in my eyes.

Judge is third in OBP with a .517 mark. Boston's Alex Bregman and Milwaukee's Rhys Hoskins have .500 OBPs over the past 15 days.

Bregman has played in 11 games and gotten 43 at-bats in that timeframe. He has 17 hits, including five doubles and three homers, and eight walks, along with 11 runs scored, 10 RBIs and six strikeouts.

Bregman went around pick 50 in fantasy drafts and is sitting 36th on the trade chart right now. I like Bregman as a sell-high trade candidate, but only if you have another fantasy third baseman you can turn to, if you don't get one back in the trade.

Hoskins has his .500 OBP over 11 games and 37 at-bats. He has three homers and a double among his 16 hits, while also walking four times. Hoskins also has racked up nine RBIs, four runs scored, a stolen base and five strikeouts in that span of games.

He started the season slow, but has definitely improved his fantasy value over the past couple weeks. He's just a deep-league fantasy asset as his 38% own mark suggests.

Add Hoskins and utilize him in deeper leagues until he cools off. He'd need to remain this productive for several weeks to get standard league attention.
