Updated Top-10 Dynasty Baseball Third Basemen Rankings: Where does Junior Caminero Rank Now?

Let's continue re-ranking dynasty baseball players by looking at third basemen.

We already went over catchers, first basemen, second basemen and shortstops. Here's my dynasty list for third basemen before the season.

1. Jose Ramirez (Preseason Ranking: 1)

Ramirez retains the No. 1 spot in my third base dynasty re-rank.

He's enjoying another big season and still is showing no signs of slowing down. The 32-year-old will eventually fall from his perch, but I'm not ready to do that just yet.

2. Junior Caminero (Preseason Ranking: 4)

Caminero is the guy who will likely take over the top dynasty spot. 

He's emerged as a top-end fantasy option at third base already, and he's just 21 years old (nearly 22). Caminero has an extremely bright fantasy future and is a dynasty pillar to build around for sure.

3. Rafael Devers (Preseason Ranking: 2)

Devers drops a spot in my re-rank, despite being the No. 1 fantasy third baseman so far this season. 

He was traded to the Giants after failing to be a team player in Boston. None of that really affects his dynasty value, but someone had to drop with how good Caminero has looked, and I decided on the 28-year-old Devers.

4. Austin Riley (Preseason Ranking: 3)

Riley falls a spot to No. 4 in my new dynasty rankings.

He sits outside the top-10 fantasy third basemen right now, but has been better since a really cold start to the season. He's still just 28 years old, and I think he's got several big seasons in him yet, and we maybe have not seen him in his prime yet.

5. Manny Machado (Preseason Ranking: 5)

I was tempted to move Machado up because of how he's produced this season, but I couldn't justify it for a player who is about to turn 33 years old.

Machado still has plenty in the tank, so he's got a couple big seasons left I think. Only roster him, and Ramirez, if your dynasty team is contending, otherwise I'd sell the veterans to the highest bidder and have a brighter future.

6. Alex Bregman (Preseason Ranking: 9)

Bregman moves up a few slots in my re-rank, and he'd likely be even higher if he hasn't missed the last month-plus of action.

He was near the top fantasy third basemen at the time of his injury, and looks to have a few big seasons in him yet. Bregman just turned 31, so as long as he can stay healthy moving forward, he's a pretty good dynasty asset yet. I'd probably still look to sell him high (after he returns from injury) in a trade though.

7. Maikel Garcia (Preseason Ranking: NM)

Garcia went from not mentioned to No. 7 in my re-rank.

He's been fantastic this fantasy season, and he could improve his ranking even more by the end of the season. The 25-year-old looks to be rounding into form, and if he can continue this level of play the rest of the season, Garcia is going to end up as one of the better dynasty assets going into next MLB season.

8. Mark Vientos (Preseason Ranking: 6)

Vientos drops a couple spots after a slow first half of the season. He's also missed most of the month of June.

Hopefully he's able to get back on track after the injury, because he's in danger of dropping off the top-10 list if he doesn't rebound. Vientos is just 25 years old, so he could regain his old ranking, or improve on it, if he ends this season strong.

9. Matt Shaw (Preseason Ranking: 8)

Shaw is another young third baseman who has struggled this season. He was demoted once already, and has slowed after performing well after being promoted back to the big leagues. 

I still see big things in Shaw's future, but until he proves himself in the big leagues, he'll stick near the end of the top-10 rankings. The 23-year-old could skyrocket up the rankings with a strong finish to the season.

10. Coby Mayo (Preseason Ranking: 7)

Mayo slides down three spots, but retains his top-10 dynasty ranking, for now.

He's struggled in his 19 MLB games so far this season. I've been really high on Mayo for the past couple years, but my patience is starting to wane. The 23-year-old needs to kick things up a notch if he doesn't want to drop out of my top-10 rankings.

Honorable Mentions

Royce Lewis was the only one from my preseason rankings to drop out of the top 10 in this re-rank. He was ranked 10th.

Lewis has continued to battle injuries this season. He can be a special talent when on the field, but he hasn't proved he can do that, so he doesn't deserve a top-10 spot for now.

Some MLB players who are excelling this season but aren't huge dynasty assets are: Eugenio Suarez, Isaac Paredes, Max Muncy, Nolan Arenado, Miguel Vargas, Alec Bohm and Matt Chapman.

Sal Stewart, Cam Collier, Brayden Taylor, Brady House, Tommy White, Mike Boeve, Luke Adams, Billy Amick, Kyle Karros and Jacob Reimer are the top-10 third base prospects in the game. 

Some other names to keep tabs on are: Jordan Westburg, Josh Jung, Cam Smith, Noelvi Marte, Connor Norby, Josh Smith and Caleb Durbin.
