I've been wanting to try discussing daily fantasy baseball projections for a while now, and today seems like a great day for a test run.

In this article (which could maybe become a series), I want to look at daily projections here at FantasySP to possibly identify some fantasy baseball waiver wire streaming options for the day, along with good DFS options.

Everything in this article was accurate as of 2 p.m. ET on Monday, June 9.

Check out daily fantasy baseball projections at FantasySP all MLB season!

Top Waiver Wire Hitting Streamers

If your fantasy baseball team is looking for some fantasy points from hitters, here's some highly-projected players for Monday.

At the catcher position, Miami's Agustin Ramirez is projected for four points. He takes on the Pirates and starting pitcher Mike Burrows on Monday - Burrows has a 5.27 earned run average across three starts this season, so while it might be a favorable matchup for the pitcher, the top Miami fantasy hitters could also excel.

Boston's Abraham Toro, Tampa Bay's Yandy Diaz and Jonathan Aranda and Cleveland's Carlos Santana are all projected for four fantasy points tonight.

Boston and Tampa Bay face each other. Tampa Bay will start Shane Baz, who has a 4.96 ERA this season. Boston will send Brayan Bello and his 3.91 ERA to the mound. Santana will go up against the Reds and starter Wade Miley, who is making his first start of the season.

Miami's Xavier Edwards, Los Angeles Angels' Zach Neto, St. Louis' Masyn Winn and Boston's Trevor Story are all set for four fantasy points as well tonight.

We've talked about who Edwards and Story will face already. Neto and the Angels will go up against the Athletics, who are expected to have Jeffrey Springs (4.66 ERA this season) cover the most innings. Winn has a matchup against the Blue Jays and starter Jose Berrios, who has a 3.67 ERA this season.

Cincinnati's TJ Friedl, Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela, Atlanta's Michael Harris II, Toronto's George Springer, Pittsburgh's Bryan Reynolds and Miami's Jesus Sanchez are outfielders projected for four fantasy points tonight.

We discussed who Boston and Miami will be facing already. Friedl will take on Cleveland and starter Luis L. Ortiz, who has a 4.02 ERA this season. Friedl has been trending up of late, which is more the reason why he's projected for a good night.

Harris has a matchup against the Brewers and starter Aaron Civale, who sports a 5.19 ERA in his few starts this season. Springer will face St. Louis' Andre Pallante, who has a 4.91 ERA. Reynolds will face Miami starter Eury Perez, who is making his first start of the season.

Top Waiver Wire Pitching Streamers

Los Angeles Dodgers' Dustin May is projected for 17 points in his start against the Padres. It's not a very favorable matchup on paper. May hasn't faced the Padres this year yet.

Springs is projected for 15 fantasy points, despite his struggles of late. The matchup against the Angels is enticing, and the projections like him tonight.

Ortiz is set for 15 points as well. He's been trending up of late, and the matchup against the Reds is another favorable one to try him out in.

Berrios is only available to about 15% of the fantasy owners who have their leagues synced here at FantasySP. He's projected for 15 points in his start against the Cardinals.

Seattle's Emerson Hancock is projected for 14 points despite having a tougher matchup against the Diamondbacks. LA Angels' Yusei Kikuchi is also set for 14 points for his outing against the Athletics.

Highest-Projected Players/DFS Options

Sticking with pitchers, Atlanta's Chris Sale is projected for 17 points tonight in his start against the Brewers. He'll be an expensive DFS option, but he's among the best starters in action on Monday and has the best matchup of the top-end guys.

Philly's Zack Wheeler will be another expensive option tonight. He's only set for 13 points in a tough matchup against the Cubs.

Arizona's Merrill Kelly is projected for 14 points in his start against the Mariners. Kelly has a 3.43 ERA this season, and is right up there with the most reliable fantasy arms with a good matchup on paper.

Boston's Nick Pivetta is owned in every fantasy league, but a matchup against the Dodgers is as tough as it gets. He's projected for 13 points tonight, so he's another high-priced DFS guy who should probably be skipped.

Boston's Rafael Devers has the highest projection among hitters tonight, sitting at six points on the FSP projections. He's going to cost a lot but a solid matchup and projection should make Devers a worthy DFS option tonight.

Cleveland's Jose Ramirez, Atlanta's Ronald Acuna Jr. and Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are other big-name fantasy assets. They are projected for five points each tonight. They'll cost a lot, but if you can cut costs elsewhere, maybe you can get one or two of these highly-projected hitters into your lineup.

There's a bunch of fantasy hitters projected for four fantasy points tonight. If you want to use the projections for help putting together your lineup, I'll point out some cheaper DFS options with four projected points: Arizona's Josh Naylor and Lourdes Gurriel, San Diego's Luis Arraez, Toronto's Bo Bichette, Chicago Cubs' Nico Hoerner, St. Louis' Brendan Donovan, LA Dodgers' Tommy Edman, LA Angels' Taylor Ward, Tampa Bay's Randy Arozarena and Milwaukee's William Contreras.

Best of luck in your first day of your newest fantasy baseball matchup, or DFS contests tonight!
