Brown Finds a New Home

Marquise Brown signed a one-year deal with the Eagles.

Brown is 28 years old and will already be joining his fourth team. He's been in the NFL for seven years, making 371 catches for 4,322 yards and 33 touchdowns overall.

He was with Kansas City the past two years, but missed almost all of the 2024 season. Brown played in 16 games in 2025, catching 49 of his 74 targets for 587 yards and five touchdowns.

His best days were in Baltimore, where he started his career. Brown had 21 scores over 46 games, plus a 1,000-yard season in 2021.

While he might not be a super high-level wideout, this landing spot could not be any better for Brown. Philly has been trying to trade A.J. Brown for a while now, so Marquise Brown could be part of a new-look 1-2 punch with DeVonta Smith if A.J. Brown is moved.

Philly has a good quarterback in place with Jalen Hurts, even though he's more known for his running than his passing. Throw in Dallas Goedert at tight end and Philly has a pretty good group of pass catchers - it'd be even better if they could keep A.J. Brown, but that would hurt Marquise Brown's outlook.

Anyways, for now, I like this landing spot for Marquise Brown. Philly could add other pass catchers, regardless of the status of A.J. Brown, so this will be something to track this offseason. I see Marquise Brown as a good deep-league fantasy asset for 2026, and he could work into standard leagues if his role in the offense increases - stay tuned.

Chiefs Add a Quarterback

The Chiefs have a new quarterback, which will come in handy with Patrick Mahomes working his way back from a notable injury. Kansas City traded a sixth-round pick to get Justin Fields from the New York Jets.

Fields is still just 27 years old, and will be joining his fourth team already - which is never a great thing for a quarterback. He's made 53 starts over his 59 appearances in five seasons.

Fields was brought in to start for the Jets last season, but only ended up making nine starts, with the team going 2-7 in those contests. He completed just 62.7% of his passes for 1,259 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception.

Fields is another dual-threat quarterback. He rushed for 383 yards and four scores over 71 attempts last season.

Fields is nowhere near the level of Mahomes, but if the Chiefs want to slowly work Mahomes along, now they have a starting option for a few weeks of the 2026 season.

Fields could be a streaming option in fantasy leagues for any starts he makes for the Chiefs in 2026. Kansas City will be the best offense he's been on, so we'll see if the organization can turn his career around. If he doesn't deliver there, he might have to resort to being a career backup.

I don't think this trade means anything negative for Mahomes, at least at this point. The team is just making the smart move and getting a starting-caliber QB in case Mahomes misses any games.

We will be tracking this situation as the next season approaches, so check back eventually for those articles.

Kirk Joins Niners

Christian Kirk is another wideout who just found a new home, signing a one-year pact with San Francisco.

Kirk is 29 years old and has been in the NFL for eight years now. He's played for three teams, and will be joining his fourth.

Kirk has topped out at 13 games over the past three seasons. He got there last year, but tallied just 239 yards and a score on 28 receptions and 52 targets with the Texans.

Kirk has delivered in his past, but is more of a complementary wideout at this point, and for probably the remainder of his career.

Kirk joins Mike Evans as wideout free agent pickups of the Niners this offseason. Ricky Pearsall is projected to be the third starter alongside those two. Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing and Demarcus Robinson are among the depth options, for now.

Brandon Aiyuk is expected to be let go by San Fran, so the Niners have been busy adding wideout help this offseason. I like what they've done.

Evans will be the alpha of the group, but is also on the back nine of his career, so Kirk and Pearsall could be decent offensive weapons as well, even in complementary roles.

I have Pearsall over Kirk for fantasy, and in real life. Pearsall will be a standard league option, while Kirk will just be a deep leaguer. Kirk could jump into standard leagues with good production or an injury to Pearsall or Evans.

George Kittle is a tight end who will soak up a lot of targets too, but coming off a major injury, his status for 2026 is up in the air, and we don't know how he will look upon his return. San Fran is protecting itself and adding other pass catchers to help until Kittle is back in the mix.

I think the Niners' offense will be a really good one in 2026. Brock Purdy is a rising quarterback, and of course there's Christian McCaffrey in the backfield. Jake Tonges will hold down the tight end spot until Kittle is back.

There's plenty of offensive weapons, and it should help the team compete in a very tough NFC West division. McCaffrey, Evans and Purdy will be the best fantasy options, but Pearsall, Tongs and Kirk could all factor in too with Kittle likely out of the picture for most (if not all) of the upcoming season.

Texans Add Notable O-Lineman

Houston signed Wyatt Teller to a two-year deal.

Usually, linemen don't grab headlines, but I like what the Texans have done this offseason, so I want to discuss what they've done a bit.

Teller is the third free agent addition this offseason, joining Braden Smith and Evan Brown. Aireontae Ersery, Teller, Jake Andrews, Ed Ingram and Smith are the projected starters, with Blake Fisher, Jarrett Patterson, Jarrett Kingston, Trent Brown and Evan Brown among some depth options.

The Texans clearly thought their offensive line was a need, and they brought in a bunch of outside help already. They might not add more free agent help on the line, but they could use some draft picks on younger o-line options.

We'll see if the moves the Texans make pay off. If they do, the Texans' offense should be better in 2026. That could help the passing game quarterbacked by C.J. Stroud and the running game, which is a split backfield between David Montgomery and Woody Marks.

Nico Collins, Jayden Higgins and Tank Dell are the projected starting receivers, with Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson and Jaylin Noel among some depth options, for now. Throw in tight end Dalton Schultz and the Houston offense looks pretty solid.

Better o-line play could take the offense to a new level, so while Teller, Brown and Smith might not be fantasy assets, they could impact the fantasy outlooks of other Texans.
