Let's discuss some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitting options.

Here's the Monday waiver wire story, plus Tuesday's starting pitcher streaming article.

Fantasy baseball waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!

Jake McCarthy - Colorado Rockies

McCarthy is rostered in 19% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was at just 2% back on May 9, so he's risen pretty steadily since then.

McCarthy had two hits on Monday, a homer and a double. He has seven hits over his past four games, and nine knocks over the past six contests.

His recent hot streak has him up to a .288 average and .335 on-base percentage. McCarthy has played in 50 games, getting 164 plate appearances so far.

McCarthy has 42 hits to his name, including nine doubles, four home runs and three triples. He has 25 RBIs, 20 runs scored, 11 walks, 10 stolen bases and 31 strikeouts.

McCarthy is part of a loaded fantasy outfield spot, so his own percentage is going to be a bit lower than it probably should be. He is a deep-league fantasy option, especially while his bat is hot. His hot hitting might not last a super long time, so add and utilize him in deeper leagues for the time being.

Edwin Arroyo - Cincinnati Reds

Arroyo has risen 9.12% and is sitting at 28.04% overall.

He was called up to the big leagues for the first time. Arroyo made his debut on Monday, starting at second base and hitting eighth.

Arroyo got four at-bats in the game. He had a single, but he also struck out three times. Arroyo scored a run as well.

So it was a mixed bag for Arroyo in his debut. It was good to see him get a hit, but the three strikeouts are concerning.

Arroyo has a chance to start and play daily, as Elly De La Cruz is on the injured list for now. It could mean that Arroyo has some short-term fantasy value, so he's worth tracking.

Give Arroyo some adds in deeper leagues, and watch him in case he sticks around in the big leagues for the long haul. He could eventually be worth adding in standard leagues.

Spencer Horwitz - Pittsburgh Pirates

Horwitz has been added in 2.87% of leagues, which brings his overall mark to 37.67%.

He has a three-game hitting streak going, and has collected five hits over those contests. Horwitz has two extra-base hits and three runs scored in that span.

Horwitz has played in 55 games and logged 208 plate appearances so far. He has a .289 average and .389 OBP for the season, which are really good marks.

He has eight doubles, seven home runs and a triple among his 50 total knocks. Horwitz has 26 RBIs, 24 runs scored, 29 walks, a stolen base and 24 strikeouts this season.

Horwitz has just played first base this season, but could have second base eligibility from past seasons. If he's just a first baseman, his fantasy value is a bit hampered.

Horwitz has been red hot of late, and he's a sneaky-good fantasy asset right now. He's just a deep-league fantasy asset. Horwitz could be utilized in standard leagues, but only view him as a short-term option. There's enough first base options out there, which will usually mean Horwitz falls short of standard league utilization.

Bryce Eldridge - San Francisco Giants

Eldridge is owned in 16% of leagues at the moment. He was below 10% on May 29.

The young hitter has a four-game hitting streak going right now. Eldridge has seven hits over that span, with four of those hits coming in one contest. He has six extra-base hits among those knocks, plus two RBIs and six runs scored.

Eldridge has played in 10 games this season, logging 71 plate appearances so far. He has a .242 average and .324 OBP.

He has 15 hits overall this season, with seven being doubles and two being home runs. Eldridge has four RBIs, eight runs scored, eight walks and 18 strikeouts.

Eldridge has a good amount of promise surrounding him as a prospect, and he's someone I've been high on for a while. He's starting to put together some better results at the plate, so it shouldn't be a surprise to see him rising as a fantasy asset.

I like adding Eldridge in some deeper leagues today, and keeping an eye on him for a potential standard league add down the line. He should be given a chance to start and play daily the rest of the season, and if he starts showing some of that promise he's projected to have, Eldridge could be a legit fantasy asset.
