Week 7 Fantasy Football Trade Targets: Should You Sell High on Purdy, McMillan, and Others?

One player at each offensive fantasy position who might be worth trading due to a tough upcoming schedule (and other circumstances).

Here at FantasySP, we have a trade value chart that ranks every player, giving you an idea of where each guy stands in terms of straight-up trades. One portion of the chart gives the remaining strength of schedule for each player, showing who has a positive or negative outlook for the rest of the season.

It has only been six weeks, so there are inevitably guys who have been good so far but will perform worse moving forward and vice versa. It is better to trade a guy a week too soon rather than a week too late, when his value takes a hit after a bad performance.

Let's look at one player at each offensive fantasy position who might be worth trading before they see a possible dip in fantasy production. Most stats are from NFL.com, and fantasy points and rankings are from FantasyPros.

Use FantasySP's trade analyzer to compare players and grade potential trades to find fair swaps or help yourself come out ahead when making fantasy football trades!

Quarterback

Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers are undefeated, and the play of their quarterback is a big reason why. Purdy is completing nearly 70% of his passes at 8.5 yards per attempt, averaging 243.3 passing yards per game with 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Purdy has also done decent work on the ground, averaging 26 yards per game and scoring another TD.

So, why look to trade him? Purdy did fantastic work in his best matchups against Arizona, Miami, and Washington, averaging 10.9 yards per pass attempt in those games. Against tougher defenses in the Rams, Broncos, and Seahawks, that number dropped to 6.6, a below-average mark.

Every quarterback plays worse against good defenses; that's the nature of football. To see such a major drop shows a reliance on beating up on bad teams for his lofty fantasy score, which has him at QB2 after six weeks. The upcoming schedule points toward tougher times coming, as we have Purdy with a D grade for his remaining matchups.

He has a middling matchup this week against the Falcons, followed by the bye, then positive matchups with the Raiders and Cowboys. The final stretch from around Thanksgiving on is the main issue, as it brings games against the Vikings, Seahawks, Rams, Chiefs, and Eagles. There are more good matchups as well (the Chargers come during the fantasy playoffs and the Cardinals in Week 18), but there are more middling-or-worse matchups until then.

Purdy has also suffered a ton of injuries to his supporting cast, seeing at least six wide receivers who were expected to make an impact miss time. Injuries are seemingly always an issue in San Francisco, leaving the worry of even more (including Christian McCaffrey).

Maybe you wait a month and let Purdy rack up a few more big performances, but if someone is willing to part with a good RB or WR, it's worth considering moving him now. He is likely to perform worse over the rest of the season even if he still plays well, and you can find fantasy points at quarterback easier than at any other position.

Running Back

Omarion Hampton, Los Angeles Chargers

Things are not well in Los Angeles. Though the Rams are 2-4, they are somehow less disappointing than their stadium-mates, the Chargers, who haven't won a game and only have at most two or three games in which they will be favored over the rest of the season.

The second-year running back showed average efficiency last season while playing only nine games due to injury, and while he has been on the field this year, Hampton is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry with 1.5 receptions per game, the latter less than half of what he averaged in 2025. Keaton Mitchell and Kimani Vidal both have more targets, and Mitchell has caught three more passes.

Things aren't likely to get better for the Chargers, and if they are losing often, they likely won't be running the ball much. Over the past three weeks, Hampton only led the team in rush attempts once, seeing Mitchell take the lead in Week 4 and Vidal in Week 6. That came after comfortably leading the pack over the first three weeks, so he could see an increase, but below-average efficiency may be pushing the team more toward a committee.

While the matchups are fine the rest of the way, I don't trust Hampton to excel often. His lower workload combined with poor efficiency and a team that likely won't be in position to run often doesn't sound like a great outlook. You might be able to offload Hampton onto another owner hoping to buy low or who just doesn't realize the track Hampton is following, being that he is still RB20.

Wide Receiver

Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers

Last week, I suggested trading for McMillan's teammate Jalen Coker, so why would I suddenly turn and say to trade away McMillan? Name recognition and perceived value.

While Coker was taken late in fantasy drafts or undrafted altogether, McMillan was taken around the third or fourth round, expected to be a top wide receiver. McMillan has been just fine, ranking close to WR15, but Coker has averaged close to the same number of receptions and fantasy points per game (while missing one week).

McMillan is likely to continue performing well, but Bryce Young has also been throwing a ton, averaging over 40 attempts per game. If that number drops closer to 30, it will leave fewer chances for the receivers to rack up stats, and with two guys capable of producing, they could negatively affect each other.

The matchups also won't be great, as McMillan and Coker are currently rated as having a D schedule the rest of the way. There will be a few juicy matchups (playing the Saints twice sounds great), but there will be more rough outlooks, including games against the Packers, Ravens, Broncos, Vikings, and Seahawks still to come, the last of which falls on fantasy championship weekend.

It's a risk to trade a guy who has been as productive as McMillan, but if someone is willing to give you a top-line QB or TE, or even a weekly starter at RB, it's worth considering trading a guy who plays a position that generally harbors the most useful fantasy performers. If you have a strong set of receivers, this is a chance to sell at maybe the highest point to strengthen another position.

Tight End

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles

I've never been as high on Goedert as others. I don't see him as a dud by any means, but Goedert has generally been a more middling fantasy player, interchangeable with a lot of other guys.

While he's usually fine in the right matchups, things are working against Goedert's success over the rest of the season. First, his schedule is graded as an F for the rest of the way; it doesn't get much worse than that. The next few weeks against the Cowboys and Commanders are fine, but it won't be as easy against the Seahawks, Texans, 49ers, and even Giants (twice).

Maybe even more worrisome is Philadelphia's quarterback situation. Jalen Hurts is out for the rest of the season with blood clots in his lungs, leaving Tanner McKee to step into the starting role. Maybe the two will make a connection, but Goedert's ceiling and floor are both lower with Hurts out of the lineup.

There is surely an owner in your league who is struggling to fill their tight end spot, and even with the circumstances surrounding Goedert, that person might see him as the answer to their problems. If you can get a useful player at any other position, it's worth it to ship out Philadelphia's tight end.
