Jalen Hurts Likely Out for Season l Fantasy Football Outlook for Eagles Players
The Eagles could be without their franchise quarterback for the rest of the season. Let's break down the fantasy impact for Tanner McKee, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and more.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been decimated by injuries already this season, and now they could be without their quarterback for the remainder of the season.
Let's discuss what that means for the Eagles and all their fantasy football players.

Hurts' Injury Update
Quarterback Jalen Hurts missed Week 6 because he had a superficial blood clot in his calf. That was discovered before Week 5, but he still played in that game.
Now, the quarterback has multiple blood clots discovered in his lungs, and that will likely keep him out for the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old quarterback was placed on injured reserve, meaning he would miss at least four games. Now, he likely won't play again this season, and his future in the NFL is in question.

Across five games this year, Hurts completed 57.8% of his passes for 933 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions. He rushed for 107 yards and a score across 23 attempts.
Over his seven-year career, Hurts has completed 64% of his passes for 18,824 yards, 118 touchdowns and 48 interceptions. Hurts has rushed for 3,661 yards and 64 touchdowns across 802 attempts.
Hurts' Fantasy Outlook
First off, I wish Hurts the best and hope he's able to make a full recovery and maybe get back on the field one day. This is a scary situation and goes far beyond fantasy sports.
He is droppable in all redraft leagues out there with his most recent diagnosis. I doubt he suits up again this season, especially considering where the Eagles will likely be near the end of the season.
Hurts is still one to hold in dynasty/keeper leagues until we get more information on his long-term outlook. We should have an idea of what things look like by the end of the season, at which point we can reassess things.
He can be and has been a high-end fantasy quarterback, and I hope we get to see him play again, because that means things clear up and the medical concerns fade a bit. For now though, things look very bleak for the Eagles without their franchise quarterback.
Next at QB
Andy Dalton had been the only other quarterback on the roster who had played going into Week 6, but he was released and now has signed with the Atlanta Falcons. It was Tanner McKee who started for Philly in Week 6.
McKee was 26-of-45 passing for 215 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in a loss to the Panthers. He added nothing on the ground.
It was actually a solid performance given the quick turnaround from knowing Hurts wouldn't play late in the practice week until Sunday, and considering the players who were all out for Philly.
Dameon Pierce, the team's fourth-string RB coming into the season, was the only other player aside from McKee to have a rushing attempt in the contest, and he only got 12, so a lot was on the plate of McKee.
You can expect McKee to be throwing the ball a ton, as Philly is likely to be losing a lot of games moving forward. That makes him an intriguing fantasy QB to consider, especially when the matchups are right.
Other Eagles' Offensive Playmakers
Saquon Barkley is among the offensive players out with an injury, which opened the door for Pierce to lead the backfield.
DeVonta Smith returned from an absence on Sunday, and was targeted 14 times, catching seven for 75 yards and a score. He should be the top pass-catching target as long as he's healthy.
Tight end Dallas Goedert, who missed time earlier this season, was targeted eight times on Sunday, making six grabs for 61 yards. He too will be heavily involved the rest of the season.
Dontayvion Wicks and Makai Lemon got four and six targets, respectively, in Week 6, and should be somewhat involved the rest of the season. They have better outlooks with Barkley out, and in games where the Eagles might be trailing and needing to pass more often, but are otherwise better deep-league options with Smith and Goedert back in the mix now.
Really, nobody on the Eagles' offense will be top-tier fantasy options the rest of the way without Hurts around. Barkley and Smith are still startable when healthy, and Goedert will be a starting option at a weaker tight end position, but really, they all will likely top out as above-average options at best, not must-start guys.
The progression of McKee will be key in determining the right Eagles to start otherwise. It's something we'll cover weekly, so keep checking back to FantasySP all season for coverage!
