Time to Buy? Fantasy Baseball Stars Whose Value Is Slipping
Using the FantasySP Trade Value Chart, we identify five players whose recent struggles could make them valuable trade targets before their production rebounds.
After looking at some fantasy baseball sell-high trade candidates, let's now turn our attention to some possible buy-low options.
We'll again be looking at the FantasySP Trade Value Chart, looking at fallers over the past week.

Brice Turang - Milwaukee Brewers
Turang was delivering big early in the season, but he's fallen off of late.
Even after posting two hits on Monday, he has just a .095 average, but a .310 on-base percentage over the past seven games. He has a .196 average over his past 15 games, with 10 hits, 12 runs, 13 walks, six RBIs and 21 strikeouts over that stretch.
For the season, Turang still has a solid .270 average and great .401 OBP over 54 games and 244 plate appearances. He has 53 total hits, including 12 doubles, seven home runs and two triples. Turang has 33 RBIs, 46 runs scored, 44 walks, nine stolen bases and 57 strikeouts.
Turang is still a high-end fantasy hitter, especially at second base. Take his lower numbers of late as a chance to buy low on Turang in a trade. He still will cost a decent amount, but the long-term payoff will benefit your squad in the long run, so at least make an offer for him.
Shea Langeliers - Athletics
Langelier has struggled of late as well, so he's another buy-low candidate.
He has a .293 average and .365 OBP over 241 plate appearances in 53 games played this season. Langeliers has 14 homers and 12 doubles over his 63 hits. He has 30 RBIs, 37 runs scored, 21 walks and 47 strikeouts.
Over the past seven games, Langeliers has a .148 average and .207 OBP. He has a .190 average and .299 OBP over the past 15 games. Langeliers has 11 hits, six walks, seven runs scored, five RBIs and 10 strikeouts over that 15-game stretch.
He's struggled a bit of late, but Langeliers will be better going forward. That makes now the time to go after Langeliers, as his fantasy value is a bit down now.
See if you can snag the Athletics' catcher for cheap.
Jordan Walker - St. Louis Cardinals
Walker has been a big-time fantasy asset this season, but he's struggled a bit of late. Now, he is a buy-low candidate.
He has a .284 average and .351 OBP over 57 games and 242 plate appearances this season. Walker has 62 total hits, including 11 doubles and 15 homers. He has 43 RBIs, 39 runs scored, 21 walks, seven stolen bases and 62 strikeouts.
Walker has hit just .154 and got on base at a .185 clip over the past seven games. He has more strikeouts (7) than hits and walks combined (5) in that span.
Walker should bounce back in time, and I like the idea of buying him low. Him being an outfielder makes him a bit more affordable. At least entertain the idea of acquiring Walker, because he might be more acquirable than you think.
Freddy Peralta - New York Mets
Peralta started May well, but saw his earned run average rise across his final three starts of the month.
He allowed three runs over five innings in his third start of May. Peralta went seven innings in his next start, but he allowed four runs. He gave up four runs (two earned) over 4 2/3 innings in his most recent start.
Peralta still has a 3.55 ERA over 12 starts this season. He has a 3-4 record and has 68 strikeouts over 66 innings.
Peralta was an overrated fantasy asset in my eyes coming into the season, and he's fallen near that level now. With his recent results, I get the idea of buying low on Peralta.
I'm still not a huge fan of Peralta as a fantasy asset, but I'd at least see what the cost is for the veteran hurler. There's a decent chance he gets dealt at the trade deadline, which could up his fantasy value.
Take the chance and see if Peralta is worth acquiring today.
Drew Rasmussen - Tampa Bay Rays
Rasmussen has put together a good season, but is coming off a bad start. That makes now a time to buy low on Rasmussen.
Over 11 starts this season, Rasmussen is 4-2 with a 3.36 ERA. He's struck out 55 batters over 59 innings.
He had allowed four or less runs in all of his starts until his last appearance. Rasmussen allowed five runs on four hits and two walks in just four innings.
Rasmussen will have better days ahead, so buying low on him is a good idea. He's a solid fantasy asset, but nothing too special. It makes him affordable in fantasy trades, and worth going after following a bad start.
