Fantasy Baseball Injury Report: Burnes, Judge, Crochet, Skubal & More

From encouraging rehab assignments to concerning setbacks, here's how to handle some of fantasy baseball's biggest injured names.

Injuries always play a big role in fantasy seasons, and that's definitely been the case for fantasy baseball leagues in 2026.

Let's take a look at some recent injury news, discussing players missing time or hitting the injured list and how to approach them in fantasy baseball leagues.

Fantasy baseball injury news can be found all season on FantasySP.

Aaron Judge - New York Yankees

Judge has a bone bruise in his right rib cage, and he has been out of the lineup for a couple days. He's scheduled to meet with a specialist to get another opinion.

It didn't seem to be a big issue early on, but the longer he is out, and now having to see a specialist, things are getting a bit worrisome with Judge.

He's viewed as one of the top fantasy hitters in the game, so any games he's not out there is a big blow to fantasy owners. You are only dropping him if he misses a big portion of the season, or the rest of the year.

For now, just stash him on your bench. Be watching his status, and be ready to pivot. Hopefully he doesn't miss much more time.

Corbin Burnes - Arizona Diamondbacks

Burnes is working his way back from having Tommy John surgery, and suffered a setback. He has a strained right teres major muscle, and now he's not expected to return until maybe September.

A lot of fantasy owners were holding him in hopes of him being back in July, but now that he's out nearly the remainder of the season, he should only be held in leagues with unlimited IR spots, or in cases where he can be stashed.

Burnes can be a high-level fantasy pitcher when healthy, but there's no use stashing him all season for just a couple weeks of pitching (maybe).

It's a bummer, but hopefully we can get a healthy Burnes out there in 2027 and beyond.

Cal Raleigh - Seattle Mariners

Raleigh is working his way back from a right oblique strain. He's set to begin a rehab assignment in a couple days, then return to the big leagues after a few more days.

The catcher got off to a slow start this season, so we'll see if his bat heats up after getting activated again.

He's one to keep stashing for a few more days, and then hopefully enjoying a ton of fantasy success after that.

Garrett Crochet - Boston Red Sox

Crochet is on the IL because of left shoulder inflammation, but now has been diagnosed with a low-grade lat strain.

The setback is definitely concerning, and with the Red Sox struggling, the organization is likely going to be careful with their ace. The longer Crochet is out, the more tempting it will be to drop him.

He'd need to be out a long time before I considered dropping him though. Crochet is too good a fantasy pitcher, even after a rough start to 2026, to consider dropping him, even as he deals with an injury. Stash him and hope Crochet doesn't miss too much more time.

Tarik Skubal - Detroit Tigers

Skubal is on the IL as well - he has loose bodies in his left elbow. He threw a simulated game on June 1, and could make a rehab start in a couple days before then being activated again.

Skubal is one of the best pitchers in the game, and he's expected back far sooner than originally anticipated. That's big news for his fantasy owners, who have been stashing him since he hit the IL.

Hopefully he can be back in the big leagues by the middle of this month, and then stays healthy the rest of the season. Skubal is a top-end fantasy option now, and his fantasy outlook could improve if the Tigers deal him away before the trade deadline.

Drake Baldwin - Atlanta Braves

Baldwin is on the IL with a right oblique strain. He could be back in the big leagues by the middle of this month as well.

Baldwin had been one of the top fantasy hitters in the game before getting injured, so getting him back would be massive for his fantasy owners. He's at least a top-end option at catcher, and if he delivers like he was early in the season, he could return to being a top-end fantasy hitter overall.

Baldwin has been stashed by his fantasy owners since he hit the IL, and hopefully you only need to wait a few more days before you can utilize him again.

Corey Seager - Texas Rangers

Seager is on the IL with back inflammation and spasms. He began a rehab assignment a couple days ago, and should be back in the big leagues very soon.

Seager has an injury history, so his fantasy owners should have been prepared for him to hit the IL at least once this season.

If he can return, stay healthy and deliver for a little while, I'd consider selling him off. His injury woes are just too much of a headache, so part ways with Seager if you can.

Maikel Garcia - Kansas City Royals

Garcia has been out of the lineup of late because of a grade 1 right hamstring strain. He hasn't hit the injured list, and he isn't expected to.

That's good news for his fantasy owners, who are eagerly awaiting his return to the field.

He hasn't lived up to preseason expectations to this point of the year, but being active is a much better alternative to him missing time. Hopefully Garcia can get back in the lineup shortly, and start producing like he has in the past.

Brandon Woodruff - Milwaukee Brewers

Woodruff is still on the injured list because of right shoulder inflammation.

He is ramping things back up, and is expected to be back relatively soon for the Brewers. A return by the middle of the month seems doable.

Woody has been pretty good in his six starts so far, and that's why most fantasy owners have held on to him through his IL stint. He has an injury history though, so parting ways with him would be the route I'd take if he comes back and looks solid for a good stretch of time.

Hunter Brown - Houston Astros

Brown is working his way back from a grade 2 right shoulder strain. He has his next rehab start in Triple-A today, and he too is expected back in the middle of this month.

Brown was a high-end fantasy pitcher coming into the season, and he delivered big in his first two starts.

His fantasy owners have been stashing him since he hit the IL, and are eagerly awaiting his return. Hopefully Brown can stay healthy after that. Brown doesn't have an injury history, so hopefully this was his only IL stint of 2026.

Francisco Lindor - New York Mets

Lindor has begun baseball activities, but he's not quite ready for a rehab assignment. He's on the IL with a left calf strain.

He's been injured a couple times this season already, and has only played in 24 games, so Lindor has been a fantasy draft bust so far.

The Mets have struggled, and Lindor hasn't been great when on the field, but the team will definitely benefit from his return. His fantasy owners will also be happy to have him back out there, and hopefully Lindor can stay healthy and start delivering a bit more, like he has in the past.
