Deep Backfield Depth Keeps Young Running Back on the Fantasy Fringe
Devin Neal enters his second season in New Orleans facing a steep climb for fantasy relevance. He sits third on the depth chart behind established stars Travis Etienne Jr. and Alvin Kamara, leaving him on the outside looking in for weekly touches.
The fantasy market has reacted to this crowded backfield, as his ADP has fallen from the high 280s in late May to a current cost of 324 overall. Our projections expect a minimal workload of 29 carries for 117 yards and a single touchdown, indicating that this falling draft price is a justified market correction rather than a buying window.
While his 2025 rookie campaign featured a decent 64 rushes and 22 receptions in 10 games, he is strictly a deep-league stash. Unless injuries strike the veterans ahead of him, we expect his roster percentage to remain low as he operates in a reserve role.
