Recurring Hamstring Setback and Crowded Backfield Dim Season Outlook

Devin Neal entered training camp looking to carve out a role in New Orleans, but recent setbacks have stalled his momentum. An August aggravation to his previously injured hamstring leaves him operating behind Travis Etienne Jr. and Alvin Kamara in the backfield hierarchy.

Fantasy managers have responded aggressively to the uncertainty. Neal's ADP has plummeted from around pick 265 in late July to past pick 400, with his roster rate crashing from nearly 40% to just 4% as drafters abandon him as a late-round flier.

Our projections align with the sliding market, anticipating a minimal workload of 30 carries, 125 rushing yards, and one touchdown (22.0 fantasy points). Until he regains full health and path to volume, Neal is purely a deep-league waiver monitor.
