Edwin Uceta | Fantasy Outlook

Edwin Uceta remains sidelined indefinitely following multiple setbacks with his injured shoulder

Uceta remains shut down on the 60-day injured list with a lingering right shoulder injury and has not thrown a single pitch this season. While the first-place Rays pace the AL East at 82-54 and ride a four-game winning streak, Uceta's recovery has repeatedly stalled after experiencing setbacks and undergoing a PRP injection. With no timetable to resume throwing, he remains entirely disconnected from the active bullpen mix.

Coming off a strong 2025 campaign where he racked up 103 strikeouts and 21 holds over 68.3 innings, our models projected him for a solid 3.38 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in late-inning relief. However, his extended absence and inability to build up arm strength have completely eliminated his rest-of-season fantasy value, rendering any preseason expectations obsolete.

Tampa Bay plays seven games this week against the Mets and Rangers, but Uceta will not factor into any bullpen plans as September arrives. Given the severity of his shoulder issues and zero throwing progression, he holds no fantasy relevance for the stretch run. Sit.
