Fantasy Football Week 10 Start Decisions Involving Broncos: Bo Nix, RJ Harvey, Troy Franklin and More
Looking over some fantasy football start/sit decisions involving Broncos' players.
The week 10 Thursday night game pits the Denver Broncos against the Las Vegas Raiders.
We just went over some trending start/sit decisions involving Las Vegas players, and now will go over Denver players in start/sit decisions. Let's get right to it!
Having trouble deciding who to start? Let the FantasySP start/sit tool help you make a decision.
Bo Nix Trending Decisions
Nix has a pretty average matchup coming against the Raiders, so he's an above-average fantasy starting option based on what he's done so far this season.
Nix is my seventh-ranked fantasy QB for week 10. Our start/sit tool has him in trending decisions with Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, Caleb Williams, Jaxson Dart, Justin Herbert and Drake Maye.
In my weekly rankings, I have Maye ranked fourth, Herbert fifth and Dart sixth, so those three I have over Nix. Goff ranks ninth, while Williams is 10th and Stafford sits 12th, so I have Nix over those three.
Fantasy owners like Stafford over Nix, but the projections favor Nix (20.4-16.7). Stafford's matchup against the Niners is just above average, so I can see why fantasy owners like him over Nix, but I still would rather start Nix tonight against the Raiders.
Fantasy owners are torn on who to start between Nix and Goff. Goff is projected for 18.6 points in a very favorable matchup against the Commanders. While the matchup is enticing, I think the game could get out of hand, so that's why I have Nix over Goff this week.
Fantasy owners are taking Williams over Nix. The projections also like Williams, who is set for 22.85 points in a great matchup against the Giants. It's about trust at this point of the season, and I trust Nix over Williams, so that's why he gets the edge this week.
Fantasy owners really like Dart over Nix. Dart is projected for 18.1 points against the Bears, who are another favorable matchup on paper.
Fantasy owners are taking Herbert over Nix, and again, it's not too close. Herbert is projected for 18.8 points against the Steelers, which is another stellar matchup for the QB.
Maye is the slight favorite over Nix for fantasy owners. Maye is set for 18.2 points against the Buccaneers, who are a slightly below-average matchup.
RJ Harvey Trending Decisions
Harvey's role in the Broncos' offense seems to be growing by the week. He's coming off two of his better fantasy showings of the year.
His matchup against the Raiders is an above average test. I have him ranked 21st among the top-30 PPR backs for week 10.
Our start/sit tool has him in trending decisions with Alvin Kamara, Woody Marks, Rachaad White, TreVeyon Henderson, Kimani Vidal and Tyrone Tracy.
If Bucky Irving were to miss another game for the Bucs, I have White ranked 12th. If Irving plays, then White would sit outside my top 30.
Vidal ranked 24th for me, while Kamara was 25th and Marks was 26th. Henderson sits 28th, while Tracy didn't make my top 30 - I have Devin Singletary at No. 23.
Fantasy owners prefer Kamara over Harvey, and the projections favor Kamara too (11.73-8.9). I'm not nearly as high on Kamara, even in an average matchup against the Panthers.
Marks is preferred over Harvey, but it's close. Marks is projected for 9.66 fantasy points, so under a point more than Harvey. I like Harvey more in his matchup, as Marks has a tougher test against the Jaguars.
Fantasy owners are taking Harvey over White, and that's the way I'd approach things not knowing the status of Irving. White is projected for 11.82 fantasy points, and that could grow if Irving is out, but it's too big of a risk to take - maybe you can start White in a flex spot. A tough test for White against the Buccaneers is another reason to take Harvey over him.
Fantasy owners are taking Henderson over Harvey this week. The projections also favor Henderson, as he's at 10.2 fantasy points. Henderson has the better fantasy matchup, as Tampa Bay is below average at stopping fantasy backs - I'm just skeptical of the Patriots' backfield, so I'm taking the guaranteed with Harvey tonight.
Vidal is the heavy favorite over Harvey this week. Vidal is set for 10.2 fantasy points against the Steelers, which is a bit tougher matchup. I prefer Harvey in his better matchup, even if he's not an RB1 like Vidal.
Tracy is also starting over Harvey, which I really disagree with. Tracy is set for 10.9 points against the Bears, who are an above-average matchup. I don't know how you could take Tracy over Harvey after how the Giants' backfield breakdown looked last week.
Troy Franklin Trending Decisions
Franklin is actually the leader for targets in Denver. He's scored the second-most fantasy points among the pass catchers, and has eight or more targets in three straight contests.
He's got a great matchup coming against the Raiders. I didn't have him in my top-30 PPR wideouts for week 10, but he was close to making the cut.
Franklin is part of trending decisions with Alec Pierce, Jauan Jennings, Deebo Samuel Sr., Jameson Williams, Jordan Addison and DK Metcalf.
Samuel ranked 28th for me this week, although he'd be replaced by Terry McLaurin if he ended up playing. Williams ranked 22nd, while Addison was 23rd. Metcalf was ranked 27th, so the only guys I like Franklin over are Pierce and Jennings, and those are close to tossups.
Fantasy owners prefer Franklin over Pierce in a landslide, but the projections only barely favor Franklin (10.8-10.42). It's a closer matchup, but the difference in matchups are the difference - Pierce has a tough test against the Falcons.
Jennings is preferred over Franklin by quite a bit as well. Jennings is projected for 9.87 points, so Franklin has the edge there. Jennings has the chance to be his team's top pass catcher in a slightly above-average test against the Rams. I prefer Franklin in his more favorable matchup, but again, it's very close and more of a tossup.
Fantasy owners like Samuel over Franklin by a good bit. Samuel is projected for 13.04 points in a pretty favorable matchup against the Lions. I think you have to trust the veteran, even if his situation isn't as favorable here.
Williams is barely preferred over Franklin, which surprised me. The projections are close, with Williams just 0.1 points behind Franklin's 10.8 mark. A great matchup against the Commanders and Williams' high upside is why I like him over Franklin.
Fantasy owners are taking Addison over Franklin this week. The projections favor Addison as well (11.3-10.8). Addison has a great matchup against the Ravens, so he's the easy choice over Franklin in a similar situation.
Metcalf is also preferred over Franklin, and that matchup isn't close. Metcalf is projected for 11.51 points, so a decent ways ahead of Franklin. A very tough test against the Chargers is the only thing that makes this a close decision, but I'd prefer a team's No. 1 wideout (Metcalf) over a No. 2 (Franklin).
J.K. Dobbins Trending Decisions
Let's jump back into running backs and discuss Dobbins, who leads the Denver backs. He's been good all season, despite only scoring four times so far. I had him ranked 17th for week 10.
He's part of trending decisions with Ashton Jeanty, Quinshon Judkins and David Montgomery. Jeanty ranked 14th for me, while Judkins was 16th and Montgomery 19th.
Fantasy owners also like Jeanty over Dobbins tonight, but are starting both guys nearly 70% of the time. Jeanty is the clear leader in the projections (15.2-12.44), but both are good standard league options. Denver being a tough matchup for Jeanty makes this a closer decision.
Judkins is preferred over Dobbins, with Judkins also having a 13.83-12.44 edge in the projections. The Jets are a pretty favorable matchup for Judkins, and he doesn't have anyone to deal with, so he gets the edge over Dobbins.
Dobbins is preferred over Montgomery, who is his team's No. 2 back, so that makes sense. Montgomery is still projected for more points (13.07), but in a more average matchup against the Commanders.
Courtland Sutton Trending Decisions
One more receiver to wrap things up here in Sutton. He is the top fantasy pass catcher for the Broncos and should put up a good score in a favorable matchup. I have Sutton ranked 17th in my week 10 rankings.
Sutton is up against Zay Flowers and Quentin Johnston in trending start/sit decisions. Flowers ranked 12th for me, while Johnston was 26th.
Fantasy owners like Flowers over Sutton, but are starting both 69% of the time, and I agree with that. Flowers has the edge in projections (14.2-13.1) despite having a tougher test against the Dolphins - I'm not worried about that.
Sutton is easily preferred over Johnston, with both starting 37% of the time. Johnston is only projected for 10.5 points against the Steelers, who are the most favorable matchup for a wideout, which is what makes this a trending decision. I still like Sutton over a guy who could be a third or fourth option for his team.
