Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings for Week 10: J.J. McCarthy, Baker Mayfield, Caleb Williams and More
Morgan gives his week 10 fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks.
Week 10 of the NFL regular season kicks off on Thursday, so let's dive into our weekly fantasy football rankings!
We will begin with quarterbacks in this article. We will cover running backs, wide receivers and tight ends in stories to come, so check back for those!
Check out week 10 fantasy football projections for quarterbacks on FantasySP as well.
1. Josh Allen
Give me Allen in the top spot for week 10. He will be taking on the Dolphins, which is the best matchup among the top-end quarterbacks.
Miami is an above-average matchup overall, so I expect Allen to deliver.
Jackson returned in week 9 and looked great, so he's right back to being a top-end option again.
He has the Vikings in week 10. Minnesota is a pretty average matchup, but I expect Jackson to deliver high-end fantasy numbers again.
3. Jalen Hurts
Hurts gets the No. 3 spot despite a tough matchup against the Packers.
He typically delivers big fantasy totals regardless of the matchup, and if you roster Hurts, you need to trust him to get the job done this week.
4. Drake Maye
Maye will look to continue his breakout season against the Buccaneers in week 10.
Tampa Bay is a slightly below-average matchup, but I expect Maye to deliver above-average results again.
Herbert has a chance to be the No. 1 fantasy QB in week 10. Why? A stellar matchup against the Steelers.
Pittsburgh allows about 20 fantasy points per game to opposing fantasy QBs, and if Herbert passes or runs for all the team's scores, there's a chance he overtakes the top-four QBs I listed.
6. Jaxson Dart
Dart also has a chance at a top-end score, but with less playmakers around him, I'm not as confident with him.
He has the Bears, who allow about 20 fantasy points per game to QBs as well. The dual-threat Dart should shine again.
7. Bo Nix
Nix has a pretty average matchup coming against the Raiders, but with his overall results, I trust Nix to be a top-10 fantasy QB in week 10.
You should be confident starting him in week 10.
It seems like Mayfield hasn't played in a while, but that's because the Bucs had a bye in week 9, and Mayfield struggled in week 8, and week 7 for that matter.
I expect Mayfield to get back on track against the Patriots, who are a below-average matchup, but nothing too difficult. I expect him over 16 fantasy points, which is what New England allows per game.
9. Jared Goff
There's a chance Goff surprises and delivers a high-end score this week. I feel safer with him at No. 9 this week.
He has a stellar matchup against the Commanders - he's another great option for week 10.
10. Caleb Williams
Williams also has a fantastic matchup in week 10, taking on the Giants.
New York allowed 21 fantasy points per game to fantasy QBs, and coming off a big game, Williams has the chance to keep it rolling.
11. Daniel Jones
Jones underwhelmed in week 9, and now has a very tough matchup against the Falcons.
Atlanta allows 14 fantasy points per game to QBs. I see Jones over that mark, but not by much.
12. Matthew Stafford
I was torn on where to put Stafford this week. I settled on the 12th spot.
He has the Niners in week 10, who allow 18 fantasy points per game, so it's a slightly above-average matchup for Stafford.
13. Jordan Love
Love and the Packers will look to bounce back on Monday night against the Eagles.
That's a pretty average matchup, as Philly allows 17 fantasy points per game. I see Love below that in week 10.
14. Sam Darnold
Darnold is coming off a stellar showing and now has a better offense after the team traded for Rashid Shaheed.
A matchup against the Cardinals is a bit tougher, otherwise Darnold would rank higher. Arizona allows 15 fantasy points per game to QBs.
15. Brock Purdy or Mac Jones
I feel like I'm going to end up listing Purdy and Jones together the rest of the season at this rate.
A matchup against the Rams is tough, with LA allowing 14 points per contest. It will be a tough test for whichever San Fran QB starts, but I'm good with either guy at No. 15.
16. J.J. McCarthy
McCarthy returned to the field in week 9 and helped the Vikings upset the Lions.
He has a similar matchup in week 10, as he gets the Ravens. Baltimore is improving defensively, but is still allowing an average of 19 fantasy points per week, so we'll see if McCarthy can keep rolling.
17. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers helped the Steelers upset the Colts in week 9. Now he has a very tough test against the Chargers.
LA allows just 14 fantasy points per contest, so that's why Rodgers is a below-average option this week, and someone I'd only consider in deeper leagues.
18. Michael Penix
Speaking of Indy, that's who Penix is facing in week 10.
Penix looked good last week, but needs to deliver consistently for me to rank him higher going forward. We'll see if he can stack another good performance this coming week.
19. Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor
I think Fields will start in week 10, but I'd also rank Taylor here if the Jets surprisingly start him.
The matchup against the Browns is tough, which is why they are only deep-league options.
20. Jacoby Brissett
Brissett is the new Arizona starter - supposedly, Kyler Murray's injury is going to keep him out. I think the coaching staff just prefers Brissett over Murray.
Anyways, a week 10 matchup against the Seahawks is pretty average for Brissett. I'd understand wanting to try Brissett after how he looked last week, but I don't love this matchup.
21. Bryce Young
Young didn't do a ton in the Panthers' upset win over the Packers last week. He gets a pretty nice matchup against the Saints in week 10.
New Orleans allows 18 fantasy points per game. I see Young below that, but as a decent deep-league option.
22. Marcus Mariota
Mariota will start for the Commanders for the foreseeable future. He gets the Lions in week 10.
Detroit allows 18 fantasy points per contest to quarterbacks, but I just don't trust Mariota at this point. We'll see if he can change my mind.
23. Davis Mills
Mills is probable to start as C.J. Stroud has a concussion he is dealing with.
Mills could be a sneaky good fantasy option in a great matchup against the Jaguars. Jacksonville allows 20 fantasy points per game.
If Stroud is cleared from his concussion and starts in week 10, I'd move him between McCarthy and Rodgers in the rankings.
24. Trevor Lawrence
In the other half of that game is Lawrence, who has a brutal test against the Texans, who allow 12 points per game to fantasy QBs.
The addition of Jakobi Meyers helps the Jaguars' offense, but it's not enough for me to like Lawrence in this brutal matchup.
25. Tua Tagovailoa
Tagovailoa has a brutal test himself, taking on the Bills.
Buffalo only gives up 13 fantasy points per game to opposing QBs, so I'd avoid Tagovailoa if I could.
26. Geno Smith
Smith is coming off a big game, but a brutal test against the Broncos makes him another fantasy QB to avoid.
Denver allows opposing fantasy QBs to score just 14 points a game. I'm staying away from Smith, especially with Meyers no longer around to help.
27. Dillon Gabriel
Gabriel has a pretty favorable matchup against the Jets, and it got better after New York traded Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner away.
I still don't trust Gabriel or this Browns' offense, so I'm avoiding him if possible.
28. Tyler Shough
Shough will make his second career start against the Panthers, who just shut down a much better Packers' offense.
After losing Shaheed, I really don't want to utilize Shough this week, or likely the rest of the season.
