Promising Young Target Share Threatened by First-Round Rookie Arrival

After a 2025 season with 47 catches, Mason Taylor remains the nominal starter. While he expects "endless opportunities" in the offense under Geno Smith, the draft-day addition of athletic phenom Kenyon Sadiq at No. 16 overall signals a transition toward a split tight-end room that limits Taylor's individual ceiling.

Our models project Taylor for 46 receptions, 398 yards, and two touchdowns. While highly efficient, sharing routes with Sadiq caps his touchdown potential. We expect Taylor to operate as a reliable short-area option, but the split workload makes him a low-ceiling fantasy asset.

Draft trends reflect this shift. Taylor's ADP spiked to 150 in early June but has since plummeted to 256 in PPR formats. At this depressed market cost, our projections view him as a solid late-round depth option rather than an overhyped reach.
