Plummeting Draft Cost and Crowded Depth Chart Render Patriots Slot Receiver a Risky Late-Round Dart Throw

DeMario Douglas enters the year in a challenging spot on the New England depth chart, slotted behind Romeo Doubs as a secondary option in the slot. With star receiver A.J. Brown anchoring the perimeter, targets will be hard to come by. Our models project Douglas to secure just 19 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns, a steep decline from his career-best 67-catch campaign in 2024.

This reduced role is reflected in his plummeting draft cost. After briefly rising to an ADP near 186 in early June, his stock has fallen to an ADP of 302. Fantasy managers are backing away as his path to consistent playing time looks blocked, turning him from a value target into a falling knife.

Currently rostered in only 8% of leagues, Douglas is a fringe stash. Unless an injury opens up slot snaps, he remains an uninspiring bench option with a low floor.
