Fantasy Football Quarterback Start/Sit Week 11: Should You Start Trevor Lawrence, Joshua Dobbs, or Russell Wilson?

Nick Roberts Nov 15th 9:09 PM EST.

Welcome to Week 11. C.J. Stroud is a top-3 fantasy quarterback on a points per game basis. Joe Burrow is closer to Mac Jones on a points per game basis than he is to Patrick Mahomes. And Sam Howell has been a better fantasy quarterback than Trevor Lawrence, Dak Prescott, and Deshaun Watson on a points per game basis. Exactly how we all drew it up!

All that to say, we've got our work cut out for us as we try to figure out what to do with our start/sit decisions moving forward.

You're obviously not benching any of those guys (more on that below), but there are plenty of other borderline fantasy starters we need to sift through.

I'm going to use the list below to cover every quarterback start/sit situation for Week 11. The list is broken into tiers (which as pretty self-explanatory based on the names of them), and you can simply look at the list and make start/sit decisions -- because it's in order of preference! Think of it as my weekly quarterback rankings.

No-Brainer Start 'Em

You drafted these guys as your starter. There's no reason to waffle on them based on matchups or anything like that. We don't even need to talk things through on any of these guys -- let's stop over-thinking things. Here's the order in which I'd start them this week:

  • Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs

    • Mahomes is fresh off his bye and has a great matchup agains the Eagles.
  • Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

    • Also fresh off his bye, Hurts should be able to do some damage in a likely shootout.
  • Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

    • Let's keep the "fresh off bye week" love going with Tua against an awful Raiders defense.
  • Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

    • Dak has been an absolute fantasy monster lately and should be able to continue his hot streak against the Panthers.
  • C.J. Stroud

    • Feels weird to have Stroud ahead of the guys he's ahead of, but he's earned it. I love his matchup against the Cardinals this week too.
  • Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

    • I've seen Lamar ranked higher in a lot of places, but I just don't love the slugfest-type matchup he's likely going to have against the Bengals.
  • Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

    • Something is obviously off with the Bills' offense, but I still have faith in Allen -- even against a tough Jets defense.
  • Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

    • Herber is coming off a monster week and gets a nice matchup against the Packers. I wish it wasn't in Green Bay, but Herbert is still a must-start.
  • Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

    • Goff has looked like a different player this season and is an auto start against the Bears this week.
  • Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals

    • Burrow has been on fire, but the Ravens defense is tough and he's still missing Tee Higgins

Still Start 'Em

These guys are a little more of a borderline decision, but they're worth starting this week. Here's the order in which I'd start them this week:

  • Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals

    • Murray looked great coming off injury last week. Can he continue that against the Texans? I don't know, but he's better than the other options we're about to get into.
  • Joshua Dobbs, Minnesota Vikings

    • It's Dobbs' world and we're all just living in it. Keep him in there against a bad Broncos defense.
  • Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

    • Purdy looked much better against the Jaguars last week and should be able to do some damage at home against the Buccaneers.
  • Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

    • Russ is finally cooking! He should be able to continue his strong recent play against the Vikings too.
  • Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars

    • I don't really trust Lawrence anymore, but the talent is there and the Titans aren't scary.
  • Sam Howell, Washington Commanders

    • I think this matchup is actually harder than it looks so I have Howell a little lower than most this week.
  • Justin Fields, Chicago Bears

    • I'm not sure what to expect from Fields coming off injury this week so I have him lower than I normally would, but this seems right in a tough road matchup against the Lions.
  • Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks

    • Geno finally looked better last week and is a decent start against the Rams this week.

Deep League Starts

These guys are basically "sits" in a 12-team league. But they're likely someone you should start in a superflex league or a 16-team league. Here's the order in which I'd start them this week:

  • Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

    • It's never pretty, but Love gets it done fantasy-wise. I'm ok with starting him in deeper leagues or as a bye week fill-in against the Chargers.
  • Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams

    • Stafford is coming off injury and hasn't looked great when healthy, so I'd avoid him if you can at this poin.
  • Will Levis, Tennessee Titans

    • Levis has been very hit or miss (mostly miss) and doesn't have much upside against the Jaguars.
  • Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

    • Young is very much a work-in-progress at this point in his career and isn't anything more than a deep league start against the Cowboys.

Sit 'Em

These guys are "sits" in pretty much any league except a superflex. Here's the order in which I'd start them this week if you absolutely have to:

  • Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Cleveland Browns

    • DTR steps into a tough matchup with Watson out for the season. I'd avoid him if you can.
  • Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers

    • Pickett has been an awful fantasy option this season and he has a bad matchup against the Browns.
  • Zach Wilson, New York Jets

    • Wilson is unstartable unless you're completely desperate.
  • Aidan O'Connell, Las Vegas Raiders

    • O'Connell is nothing more than a game manager at this point and shouldn't be started.
  • Tommy DeVito, New York Giants

    • DeVito may not throw the ball more than 15 times all game and shouldn't be started at any point.
