5 Fantasy Baseball Players You Can Drop Today
Injuries, slumps, and declining production have put several formerly reliable fantasy assets on the chopping block heading into another week of action.
After looking at fantasy baseball waiver wire/streaming options (pitchers, hitters, weekly projections) today, let's now turn our attention to drop candidates.
More droppable player data can be located on the waiver wire trends most dropped tab, which can be found on any fantasy baseball page here at FantasySP.

Salvador Perez - Kansas City Chiefs
Perez is rostered in 83% of fantasy baseball leagues right now. He was at 100% at the start of the season, and at 90% on May 30, but he's trending back down again now.
He is dealing with a thumb injury right now. Perez hasn't played since June 5.
Perez has struggled this season, and he sits with a .204 average and .254 on-base percentage. He has nine homers and six doubles among his 48 total hits, plus 26 RBIs, 22 runs scored, 12 walks and 49 strikeouts.
He should have first base and catcher eligibility, so he's still a valuable fantasy asset, even with diminished hitting stats. He's a better deep-league asset, and he should be dropped in standard leagues when he isn't playing, so now. Keep an eye on his status, but drop him if there's a better option out there on the waiver wire.
Emmet Sheehan - Los Angeles Dodgers
Sheehan is owned in about 90% of leagues at the moment, but is trending down after his last start.
He got just four outs on Sunday against the Angels. He allowed two runs on three hits and two walks, while also striking out two. Sheehan left after 49 pitches.
Sheehan has pitched decently this season, but he's been inconsistent. He has a 4.70 ERA over 12 starts, and had been pitching a bit better of late.
All the things I've said so far basically say that Sheehan is a better standard league streaming option. So after poor starts, he is droppable. Keep considering him as a streaming option, but also don't be afraid to drop him in standard leagues.
Brandon Nimmo - Texas Rangers
Nimmo is rostered in 84% of leagues at this time. He's been close to 90% for most of the last month, but he's trending down now.
He has two hits over his past five games, and just three hits over his past seven contests. Nimmo has eight strikeouts in that span.
Nimmo has a .249 average and .330 OBP over 63 games and 273 plate appearances. He has 60 total hits, including 11 doubles, seven homers and two triples. Nimmo has 22 RBIs, 27 runs scored, two stolen bases, 24 walks and 57 strikeouts.
Nimmo started the year really well, but has faded, especially of late. At a stacked fantasy position, he's not worth holding through struggles at the plate. Keep tabs on him and add him back in all leagues when he's hitting better.
Andres Munoz - Seattle Mariners
Munoz is down to 91% rostered right now. He was a top-end asset last year, but hasn't produced near that level in 2026.
He blew a save on Sunday, allowing two runs on a hit and two walks over 2/3 of an inning. Munoz has five blown saves on the season now.
Munoz is 3-4 with nine saves and the five blown saves over 25 appearances so far. He's allowed 15 runs (14 earned) on 23 hits and nine walks over 23 1/3 innings. Munoz has 35 strikeouts to his name.
Munoz isn't pitching as well this season, and the Mariners aren't winning as much as they were a season ago, so his fantasy outlook is down for a couple reasons. He's not worth holding in all standard leagues right now, but I'd look to sell him in a trade before outright dropping Munoz.
Eugenio Suarez - Cincinnati Reds
Suarez is sitting at 73% rostered today. He too was owned in all leagues at the start of the year, but an injury and poor performance has him down to his lowest own mark of the year.
He has three hits over his past nine games. Suarez has at least one strikeout in all those games, and has 14 strikeouts total in the stretch.
Suarez has a .209 average and .287 OBP over 38 games and 150 plate appearances this season. He has 28 hits, including five doubles and four home runs, plus 16 RBIs, 13 runs scored, 15 walks and 47 strikeouts.
He's struggled this season when he's been healthy, and enough time has passed to move on from him now. Suarez is worth watching in case he catches fire later in the season, but he's definitely droppable right now.
