Ivan Herrera and Jasson Dominguez Among Saturday's Top Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Adds
Looking at a few waiver wire hitters to consider adding in fantasy baseball leagues.
Let's look at some fantasy baseball waiver wire hitter options for Saturday, May 10.
We won't cover anyone who appeared in waiver stories on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

Should You Add Ivan Herrera?
Herrera is up 1.91% today and is now at 52.81% overall.
Herrera was activated off the 10-day injured list on Friday, so it makes sense to see him on the rise. He doubled among his four at-bats on Friday. Herrera drove in two runs and struck out once.
Herrera now has eight games played for the season. He's got a .360 average and .414 on-base percentage across 29 plate appearances. Herrera has four homers and three doubles among his nine total hits, along with 13 RBIs, three walks, six runs scored and six strikeouts.
It was a shame that Herrera was injured when he was, because he was hitting really well in the first week or so of the season. He was the team's designated hitter in his return to the big leagues, and he slotted into the sixth spot in the order.
He's only likely eligible at catcher and designated hitter for fantasy purposes, but the fact he also gets real starts at DH means he can be in the lineup a bit more than the typical starting catcher.
I was a fan of Herrera before he went down with his injury, and think he's overlooked now after a month or so long absence. I'd call him pretty close to a must-own fantasy asset in deeper redraft leagues. At a weaker fantasy position too, he can also be a standard redraft option right away (it just depends on your current catcher situation).
Herrera is a young player, and had just 96 MLB games and 325 plate appearances coming into this season. He had a .289 average and .365 OBP, so it's not crazy to expect him to keep putting up really strong numbers.
If you're not ready to add Herrera now, you better keep a close eye on him, because it might only take a couple solid fantasy outings to have him rostered in most leagues. I'd take a gamble on him before his stock really heats up again.
Should You Add Jasson Dominguez?
Dominguez has put up solid numbers this season, but is coming off a monster performance on Friday. He's up 1.67% and is rostered in 50% of leagues now.
Dominguez hit three homers and drove in seven runs on Friday against the Athletics. He also had a sacrifice flyout and strikeout across four at-bats.
In 32 games and 124 plate appearances in 2025, Dominguez has a .250 average and .339 OBP. He's got five homers and eight doubles among his 27 total knocks, along with 19 RBIs, three stolen bases, 20 runs scored, 14 walks and 38 strikeouts.
The 22-year-old outfielder made his MLB debut in 2023, but only played in 26 games coming into this season. This is his first real chance to show what he can do, and so far, he's been solid, and most importantly, stayed healthy.
He was a highly-regarded prospect, and that along with playing for the Yankees, is why Dominguez is owned in half of fantasy leagues out there. Dominguez's numbers definitely look better after Friday's game, but he was doing enough to roster in a lot of deeper redraft leagues.
He's mostly been hitting fifth when he's been in the starting lineup. That's a favorable spot for any fantasy hitter, especially when you are following the likes of Aaron Judge, Paul Goldschmidt and Cody Bellinger most nights.
I have no issues rostering Dominguez in deeper redraft leagues, but I need to see more consistent production before I'd give him a standard redraft league roster spot. He's worth keeping tabs on, especially the next couple days, as Friday could be the start of a hot streak and/or his breakout.
Should You Add Gabriel Arias?
Arias has been hot at the plate of late, and his season-long numbers are also pretty solid. He's owned in 26.79% of leagues after a 1.47% boost today.
Arias has nine hits over his past five games and 22 plate appearances. He's got a double and eight singles for his hits, along with five RBIs, a walk, three runs scored and three strikeouts in that span.
For the season, Arias has played in 36 games and gotten 131 plate appearances. He has seven doubles and four homers among his 33 total hits. Arias has also posted 16 RBIs, two stolen bases, nine walks, 20 runs scored and 34 strikeouts.
He gets a fantasy value boost because he's likely eligible at several different positions. Arias has played 28 games at second base, 13 at shortstop and seven at third base so far this season. He's played first base and all three outfield spots in the past, so there's a chance he's also got position eligibility there too.
There's nothing super flashy about Arias, but he's a good deep-league fantasy asset. He was a career .212 hitter with a .274 OBP coming into the season, so there's a chance he falls off eventually, but he's also just 25 years old and maybe has figured things out at the big league level.
Arias is worth adding in deeper leagues, but I'm not sure he'll ever get to standard leagues.
Should You Add Tim Elko?
Elko is barely owned in any fantasy leagues right now. He is expected to be called up by the White Sox on Saturday.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to his season at Triple-A. In 31 games and 130 plate appearances, Elko has 10 homers and six doubles among his 39 total knocks. He also has 23 RBIs, 15 walks, 20 runs scored and 37 strikeouts to his name.
He's got a career .293 average and .348 OBP across four minor league seasons, so it kind of makes you wonder why a MLB team desperate for hitters over the years hasn't given Elko a shot.
Elko has only played first base in the minor leagues, so he'll be an option there or as the team's designated hitter moving forward. Andrew Vaughn has appeared in 28 games at first base, while Lenyn Sosa (6), Bobby Dalbec, Nick Maton and Miguel Vargas (5 each) and Matt Thaiss (1) have also spent some time there.
Chicago clearly is looking for hitters to get their putrid offense going, so I expect Elko to be in the lineup daily, whether that be as the 1B or DH. He's worth keeping tabs on in case he keeps hitting at the big league level.
Elko is worth an add in some really deep redraft leagues, even if it's just as a stash option for a week or two. You just never know who might deliver when they get to the big leagues.
Should You Add Matthew Lugo?
Lugo got called up by the Angels on Friday. He's barely owned in any fantasy leagues right now. He pinch ran and played center field in the team's game on Friday.
Lugo is the team's No. 13 prospect, and this is his first crack at the big leagues. He's got 50 grades for his power, running, arm and fielding, but a 45 mark for hitting and overall. He's 24 years old, bats from the right side and was drafted in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
Across parts of six minor league seasons, he's got a .266 average and .333 OBP across 460 games. He has 49 homers, 20 triples, 105 doubles, 466 total hits, 64 stolen bases, 266 runs scored, 154 walks and 448 strikeouts in his minor league career.
Again, Lugo is only worth adding in really deep redraft leagues, but he's a player to keep tabs on at least. He'll need to earn a regular starting role before he's a fantasy asset in any formats though.
