Tuesday's Fantasy Baseball Streaming Options: Is Jose Soriano Graduating from Streamer to Keeper?

Three teams are tied for the best record in baseball: the Mets, Padres, and Dodgers are all 16-7. It's not a surprise that any of the three are near the top, as they have superstar players and/or seemingly endless resources. Success isn't guaranteed, though, even when things look good on paper; just ask the Mets from a few years ago.

Shifting to fantasy baseball, let's look at five starting pitchers in action on Tuesday who are widely available in fantasy leagues and have good matchups. Most stats are from MLB.com, as are the probable pitchers. The full streamer rankings are listed at the bottom.

Osvaldo Bido, Athletics vs. Texas Rangers

Bido gets the first in a long string of good matchups for the A's, who play their next 16 games against the Rangers (two series), White Sox, Marlins, and Mariners. Each of those teams is either on our target list or has been recently; the A's have a chance to go on a nice run here through the first week of May.

The Rangers are tied for the fewest runs scored. They're also in the bottom 10 in hits, walks (last), batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, and OPS. While Texas is atop the AL West, they are being carried by a top-five pitching staff while being drug down by their offense.

Bido is a mid-level streamer. He is generally right around average with strikeouts (with a few too many walks thrown in), and he has gotten off to a good start in 2025. The matchup is right also.

Bailey Falter, Pittsburgh Pirates @ Los Angeles Angels

Falter is a below-average strikeout guy, but he's several percentage points better than average with walks. He has been an average pitcher in 362.2 innings (or maybe a little worse); Falter is one of the many pitchers worth considering when the situation is right.

The Angels are in the bottom 10 in most offensive categories, but they have hit well for power, ranking fourth in home runs and eighth in slugging percentage. LA is 29th in walks and 12th in strikeouts, though, a nice profile for any pitcher to face.

Falter is a low- to mid-level streamer. His lack of strikeouts caps his ceiling, and the Angels are more of a good matchup than a great one.

Davis Martin, Chicago White Sox @ Minnesota Twins

The Twins just got swept over the weekend by the Atlanta Braves, who are tied for the worst record in their division and third worst in the NL. There's a lot of time until October, but the Twins, currently 7-15, can't be losing series against the worst/most disappointing teams in baseball if they want to compete. Four games at home against the White Sox is a chance to turn their fortunes around; Chicago is battling with the Rockies for the worst team in baseball.

Minnesota's offense has been a major part of the problem, as they rank in the bottom 10 in most offensive stats. Outfielder Matt Wallner is the only Twin with more than 12 at-bats who is hitting over .250; just three players have more than one home run; Byron Buxton has four doubles and four homers, but he also leads the team with 26 strikeouts while walking only twice. There's a lot to fix on Minnesota's offense.

Martin is 135.2 innings into his career, first debuting in 2022 but then missing all of 2023 with Tommy John surgery. He's been right at average with walks, but he's several percentage points below average with strikeouts and has given up more than one hit per inning.

Martin is a low-level streamer. There's a cap on his performance, especially with the lack of strikeouts, and only the matchup makes him worth considering.

Andre Pallante, St. Louis Cardinals @ Atlanta Braves

Pallante has 34 career starts and over 100 relief appearances. He appears to have entered the rotation full time now, an improvement to his fantasy status. Pallante has been worse than average with both walks and strikeouts, though his run prevention has been good. There's intrigue to Pallante, but his BB and K rates don't point toward great performance.

The Braves have now won four straight after defeating St. Louis yesterday. Their offense is still below average, though they are creeping closer to the middle than the basement. While they hit for power, Atlanta hitters have also struck out the eighth most.

Pallante is a low-level streamer. His performance is just OK, and we could say the same about the matchup here. I prefer skipping Pallante in this spot.

Jose Soriano, Los Angeles Angels vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates are another team in the bottom 10 in pretty much every offensive category. They also are among the top five in batter strikeouts, so Pittsburgh creates a high ceiling for their opponents on top of not supplying much offensive prowess.

Soriano is owned in about 30% of leagues, a higher number than a lot of guys who end up on our list but still low enough to require a spot here when the matchup is right. Soriano is a little better than average with strikeouts, but he also has been worse than average with walks in all three of his seasons. That hasn't hurt him too much, though, as Soriano has also had an ERA under 4.00 in every season (180.2 total innings).

Soriano is a mid- to high-level streamer. His work has been good enough to make him worthy of considering for a permanent roster spot in deeper leagues, and the matchup is right here for a big day.

Tuesday's Streamer Rankings

  1. Jose Soriano, LAA
  2. Osvaldo Bido, ATH
  3. Bailey Falter, PIT
  4. Andre Pallante, STL
  5. Davis Martin, CWS
