Fantasy Baseball Hitters Off to Slow Starts: Rafael Devers, Austin Riley, Bryan Reynolds, Ozzie Albies, Marcus Semien and More

Taking a look at fantasy hitters struggling across the first week of the season.

After taking a look at the top fantasy hitters and MLB performers across the first week of the regular season, it's time to check out hitters who are struggling in the early going.

Stats are pulled from the MLB site, while fantasy baseball numbers I include are from ESPN.

Least Amount of Fantasy Points

Colorado's Michael Toglia has the rough honor of being the fantasy player with the least amount of fantasy points so far. He has scored -9 points.

Washington's Dylan Crews is at -7 points, while Atlanta's Bryan De La Cruz is at -5 points. St. Louis' Willson Contreras, Colorado's Ryan McMahon, Seattle's Donovan Solano and San Francisco's Sam Huff are at -4 points each.

Toglia has 14 strikeouts across 23 at-bats so far. He has two hits, including a double, along with no RBIs, walks or stolen bases. Toglia has scored two runs.

Crews has 10 punchouts across 18 at-bats so far. He has no hits across 18 at-bats, along with no RBIs. Crews has one walk, a stolen base and a run scored.

De La Cruz has six punchouts across his first 11 at-bats. He has no hits and just one walk.

Contreras has 10 strikeouts in his first 23 at-bats. He has a double for his lone hit, along with two RBIs, a walk and a run scored.

McMahon has struck out 11 times in his first 23 at-bats. He has five hits, including a double. He's failed to drive in a run, and still hasn't scored. McMahon has also walked once.

Solano has just four strikeouts, but that's across 10 at-bats. He has no hits, RBIs or runs scored yet.

Huff has four punchouts across seven at-bats. He has no hits, walks, RBIs or runs scored either.

Struggling Catchers

Along with Contreras and Huff, Milwaukee's William Contreras, Seattle's Cal Raleigh and Athletics' Shea Langeliers are three more catchers with sub .200 averages and at least 20 at-bats.

William Contreras has just two singles across 24 at-bats so far. He's walked five times and struck out on eight occasions - Contreras has two runs scored, but no RBIs.

Raleigh has three hits, including a homer, among his first 24 at-bats. He has two RBIs, four walks, a stolen base, a run scored and seven punchouts.

Langeliers has four hits, including two home runs, across his first 22 at-bats. He has two walks, five punchouts, five RBIs and two runs scored.

Struggling First Basemen

San Diego's Luis Arraez, Houston's Christian Walker, Boston's Triston Casas and Minnesota's Ty France are first basemen with over 25 at-bats and a sub .200 average.

Arraez has four hits, including a homer, this season. He has a walk, stolen base and two runs scored, and at least has not struck out once.

Walker has a homer among his five hits this season. He has one RBI, no walks, three runs scored and nine strikeouts.

Casas has a homer among his four total hits. He also has a walk, run scored, two RBIs and 11 punchouts.

France has five hits on the season, including a double. He has two RBIs, a walk, two RBIs and runs scored and four punchouts.

Struggling Second Basemen

Atlanta's Ozzie Albies and Texas' Marcus Semien are the only second basemen with over 25 at-bats and a sub. 200 average.

Albies has a double and homer among his five hits, along with four RBIs, two walks and runs scored and four strikeouts.

Semien has three singles on the season. He's also posted an RBI and two walks, but hasn't scored a run and has six punchouts.

Struggling Third Basemen

Atlanta's Austin Riley and Los Angeles Dodgers' Max Muncy are two third basemen with sub .200 averages and at least 25 at-bats.

Riley has a double and homer, but only one other hit. He has an RBI, two walks and runs scored and 11 punchouts.

Muncy has 11 strikeouts to his name too. He has two doubles among his three knocks, along with two RBIs, three walks and a run scored.

Struggling Shortstops

Milwaukee's Joey Ortiz and Minnesota's Carlos Correa have sub. 200 averages across 25 or more at-bats among shortstops.

Ortiz has a double among five hits so far. He also has a walk and run scored, but no RBIs and five strikeouts.

Correa has a double among his two hits so far. He has a walk, RBI and run scored, along with four punchouts.

Struggling Outfielders

Chicago Cubs' Ian Happ, Athletics' JJ Bleday, Atlanta's Michael Harris II and Los Angeles Dodgers' Andy Pages have 25 or more at-bats and a sub .200 average among outfielders.

Happ has seven hits, including a double and homer, but that's across 38 at-bats. He has seven walks, five RBIs, six runs scored and 10 punchouts.

Bleday has a double among his five knocks so far. He also has an RBI, three walks, two runs scored and two punchouts.

Harris has a homer among his four hits. He also has an RBI and run scored, but no walks and eight strikeouts.

Pages has a double among his three knocks. He also has three walks and two runs scored, but no RBIs and 11 punchouts.

Struggling Designated Hitters

Pittsburgh's Bryan Reynolds, Boston's Rafael Devers and Tampa Bay's Yandy Diaz are listed as DHs on the MLB site, and all have sub .200 averages and at least 25 at-bats.

Reynolds has a double among his six knocks so far. He also has two walks and RBIs, a stolen base and run scored, but has punched out nine times and been caught stealing once.

Devers has a double among just three hits. He also has five walks, two RBIs and runs scored and has struck out a whopping 16 times.

Diaz has a double among four hits so far. He also has an RBI, walk, three runs scored and a strikeout.
